Rivals Taphouse & Grille — Restaurant in Caledonia Charter Township

Hello today i took my family to RIvals for Mothers Day! we were super excited to share a meal together after a day of fun and activities, SADLY we had a poor experience, when we arrived it wasn't too busy we found some seats and were quickly introduced to our server Tara, who seemed super nice, we received our drinks and menus, everything was going well but soon it got fairly busy, which is very understandable being a holiday, unfortunately this slowed our service and we didn't even get to place our orders until 25-35 min after we sat down. All of us were hungry including 2 young children. After we were finally able to place our orders we waited, and unfortunately we seemed to be forgotten as the wait was long and we weren't asked for refills or updated on our orders. I was a little nettled but we passed the time by talking and making jokes, which made time go by faster. Then we finally received some dishes which were delivered by a young man whom i assume is the cook/chef. the food was absolutely delicious HOWEVER part of our table were missing their meals most notably the children who ordered mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. This was very odd to me because the adults had ordered shrimp, yet is was the children who didnt get their food, the young man who delivered our food then asked what the missing dishes were and who ordered them, confused they re-gave their orders which led to us having to wait for another 30min for the children to receive their chicken nuggets and mac and cheese. I can 100% understand if a mistake happened but i wasnt told, so half our table got food ate while the children and other half of the table had to wait 30 min for their food, . i am fine with waiting for food because the food was delicious as long as all the dishes are delivered relatively close to one another But i was furious when the children and my family had to wait a half hour to eat mac and cheese and chicken nuggets,...

Summary: great sports bar with many selections and very fast service!

Came out today with my wife and decided to check this place out. We were not disappointed!

My wife and I eat a ketogenic diet so we heavily restrict our carb intake. At first we were a bit worried and had trouble finding things that worked but we discovered tons of options that were all very tasty!

My wife got the BLAT wrap which is bacon, lettuce, avocado, and tomato, with a ranch sauce. It was good, crispy, and fresh! I went with the traditional wings (which are not breaded FYI), half with parmesan garlic and half with the creamy cayenne Boom Boom sauce. Both were amazing! The wings were large with tons of meat. I got a Bleu cheese dipping cup and they hooked me up with at least 4-6oz. They do not skimp! Brilliant

We also ordered 2 extra meals to go. There was a younger guy bringing out the food and he asked if we wanted to delay the orders or if we wanted them right then. It was a small gesture but with a lot of thought, and we did actually want the orders delayed so they'd be ready around the time we were leaving. Great thinking on his part and customer service!

Small note: their bathrooms are really cool. There's a long, stone trough sink with a rustic outdoor pump style sink head. It really fit with the decor and was a nice touch!

We will be coming by again in a couple weeks and my wife and I both are really looking forward to another...

Our service was terrible at the bar Saturday night. It took a while to get our drinks and once I got my coffee, it tasted like she had microwaved it from the morning. I told her it didnt taste good and I'd like a water. She refilled my boyfriends drink and his dads twice without asking me if I needed anything. Once she finally took our order, they brought it out to us but she never gave us silverware so we waited and ended up asking another waitress for silverware. Still no water. It looked like she was more interested in filling her friends drinks and chatting than taking orders or checking on customers. An off duty waitress kept walking behind the bar to grab things and use the cash register, highly unprofessional. Once we finished our meals she finally brought my water and and it took her another ten or fifteen minutes for us to get the checks we asked for. My family and I have worked in the service industry for years so I understand that times can be busy but this was not one of those times. The bar wasn't even half full. We have been before and had horrible service then as well, but tried to give them another chance. We will...
