I recently bought a home near by and this was my 1st time at Bucas. We popped over because Oh Dennis! across the road was too packed. Buca's has that classic, right behind the bar open flame grill(see The Camino). If you don't like the smell of searing meat when you walk into a bar. Then you're not American and you should not come here. Otherwise the smell was heavenly. Our server was the only guy in the place waiting tables, and there was only one guy filling all the food orders. He also informed us later on that it was his first time waiting tables in a few years, and the place was busy. He did what he could keeping up with our drinks and we waited about 45 min for our food, which our server had warned us about before we ordered.
Old fashioneds were awesome, and the food was REALLY good. Our server also bought us shots and took an app off our bill because it came out late. He was also extremely personable and accommodating, considering how stretched thin he was. Buca's could use a bigger wait staff but it's awesome! Let me reiterate that all our food was REALLY good! My buddy got pulled pork that was solid, and their sauces were good also. I got a Patty Melt. It had great flavor and the cook prepared it a perfect medium/medium rare. The onion strings were luke warm but really good. We had spring rolls as an app and they were also bomb.com....
Read moreThis place is near and dear to my heart. It is a dive bar, but everyone is SO nice, and the food is off the charts. Buca told me he gets his meats from the local butcher (Brossmans), so our burgers and my tenderloin sandwich taste so fresh and tender, but we've also had the fish fry, and numerous appetizers that are so good. Buca is always out and about, has offered our party fireball shots more times than I can count, and his employees seem genuinely happy to work there. We tipped our last waitress $40 last night because she was so sweet and bubbly, and was always available and she was very appreciative for the tip. There was another woman helping her that came to talk to our table to thank us for going. It's my go to to take our out of town family, and they always say how much they love it. When my cousin/sister comes to visit, this is where we meet up, we just hang out at the bar to eat and drink (which is my preferred place to sit). My husband and I are low key people, so we went there for our anniversary dinner last July. I almost don't want to tell people about it because I want it all to myself, but I also want to let Buca and everyone to know how much I love his place. I've also been told that Juan is the cook on Mexican Mondays, so we'll have to head back for dinner sometime...
Read moreWent there for first time last Friday night. We had a group of 4. It was at capacity but we got a table pretty quickly. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. She deserved 5 stars. We ordered drinks and they were delivered pretty fast. We ordered or food and it took over an hour to get it. I had read reviews that mentioned slow service. This might be okay for the regulars but not for us. The wait time gets one star. I got the Bourbon Bacon Chicken burger, the others got fried cod and shrimp dinners. The food was fine. The chicken burger was huge. My wife got the cod and shrimp with the homemade tots. The tots weren’t as good as bagged tots. She thought all of her food was overcooked. The atmosphere in one of a neighborhood bar. Nothing special but probably a nice place for the regular crowd. Everyone knows your name. The food and drinks were low price compared to other places like this. $4 tap beers. $5 for wine and mixed drinks. $11 for sandwich and fries. $14 for the cod and...
