Cute little spot to grab food with family or friends. When I first walked in I saw the huge menu above the counter and immediately felt overwhelmed with options. Thankfully, the lady gave us each a menu and said we could go sit down and look it over first. While looking over the menu, we were served chips and salsa, which I was surprised by because the walk up counter gave me a "fast food" vibe not a "sit down and be served free chips and salsa" vibe like El Nopal. Once, we decided what we wanted we walked up to the counter, where there was a line, but another employee quickly came to us in line with an ipad to take our order. I was very impressed with their quick and friendly service while taking our order. Our food came out quickly and tasted good. (Note: If you are on a diet, or trying to be healthy in any way...this may not be the spot for you. The Pork Tacos and Chicken Quesadilla I ordered were very salty and greasy. I could barely detect any chicken in my quesadilla because of the excessive amount of cheese.) My friend and I sat and talked for a long time, so long we didn't even notice the place had closed. They let us sit there talking for 45 minutes past closing time before saying anything to us!!! I felt SO bad! But they were literally so nice to us, and never got mad or kicked us out. So, my review I give this place 10/10 on customer service, 10/10 on value and price point, 10/10 for...
Read moreWhen you’re craving fajitas on a road trip and have no other choice than to roll the dice, this is the sort of Mexican restaurant you’re hoping to land on. We were fateful enough to show up for $10 Fajita Friday, while craving fajitas, so I’ll acknowledge divine intervention on this one.
Don’t let the humble exterior fool you. The front door portals you straight to Mexico City. You know it’s authentic when there’s a Mexican grocery store attached by the same roof.
If you’re living in the area, or happen to be traveling hwy 75 at just the right time, this is the ristorante you’re looking for. My wife got the chicken fajitas, I got the steak. Both were grilled with quality meat and an abundance of juicy flavor. Portions were generous, everything was fresh, and they even had that caliente, back-room extra spicy salsa that inspires you to study specific Spanish phrases with the hopes of unlocking these hidden gems at the right place right time. All in all, nothing to complain about here....
Read moreIf you like dry, cheeseless, sauceless “enchilada” with salad on top, it’s okay. If you like actual enchilada with any kind of flavor or texture, go somewhere else that actually serves them. When the best part of the plate is the bagged rice and canned beans, it’s a problem. My plate also arrived cold, several minutes after my husband’s arrived hot.
My husband ordered several small items that were tasty, he was kind enough to share after mine was inedible. The fried plantains were 5/5.
When I told the young lady at the counter that I did not care for my food and didn’t think it was actually an enchilada, before I could even ask if it was a mixup, she tried to argue with me. “That’s how we do enchilada here!” Okay then. So, after spending $30 on average-at-best food, I’ll keep going somewhere else. One star off for the food, one star off for the vibe, one star off for...
