Wunderbar!! Yes! Yes! Yes! Sorry! I get a bit carried away when my past comes back to me in smiles? I've been fortunate as a "Sexagenarian" to have had delicious doughnuts around the United States. Having a paper route delivering the San Jose Mercury and the San Francisco Chronicle in "The Bay" I would purposely tell my Route manager I was short newspapers in my bundle so that I could sell newspapers at Winchell donuts. I must admit,I had to remove all the newspapers from the machines and sell them by hand,I'm not proud ok?, I was 14 years young, I really wanted donuts for myself and my immediate family as a Sunday morning surprise. It seems like people who review donut shops in this area have no idea what a real homemade donut taste like.. Bill's donuts are the same ones at Safeway. Maybe not even as good those.they are purchased frozen pre-made. they are not made By hand in like in a bakery. Donut shop owners who don't even bother to make their own product. Fake frozen premade donuts. If you want real doughnuts, you could go to heavenly doughnuts in Cameron Park or b. J cinnamon in folsom or donuts and cinnamon in rocklin, all 3 are completely homemade. Friendly service, reasonable prices, great products. Go early, as regular patrons tend to clean out their stock pretty quickly! They gave me a discount one day when their selection was unusually poor in the later morning, very impressed by their service. They also now have a card reader and were able to accept my Visa debit card, so no reason not to visit them if you tend not to carry cash or checks. Wish they would carry whole milk in their drink fridge though- although maybe that's been out of stock too...
