Found this place through Google Maps (oddly) - whenever we've searched for "best burger" through Yelp, Google, etc it's never listed in the first 2 pages, we see why. But we really wanted to give them a try and support local.
If you're looking for a selection of burgers, this is the place - they do burgers and know how to grill them. But if you're looking for a composed, "gourmet"ish burger, you may want to reconsider.
In general, the burger and sandwich were okay - slightly overcooked and hugely lacking flavor. The regular buns were "regular" - they were sticky, lumped in your mouth, and didn't really hold the sandwiches.
Hot Stuff Burger - was not hot (really depends on the season of the jalapenos). The beef was slightly overcooked, and the amount of lettuce / tomatoes drowns the overall flavor. The burger reminded us of something you would get at a picnic / bbq.
Salmon Burger - the fishy smell that hits you as you open the box was not appetizing. Luckily it didn't taste that way, but same as the beef - made the fish dry (may also be due to frozen cut vs fresh). Needless to say, I couldn't finish my sandwich, it was just too tough for me.
Side of fries - thin fries, which got a bit soggy as they were probably boxed while hot. Cooked well through, but the box experience may really impact the...
Read moreWe recently moved back to the area, and wanted to try a non-chain burger place. So we ordered 2 burgers (one on wheat), 2 fries, 1 large soda, a brownie and a root beer float.
The large soda and the brownie were left out of the order entirely. Since they closed at 8pm, which was shortly after we left and before we got home, so we couldn't even go back for the $5.50 worth of missing items.
The next complaint is perhaps more nitpicky, but I literally threw my food away because I was so frustrated at this point. In the burger options, the second choice under "How would you like your Bun?" is Wheat Bread. Considering that the option was listed under "How would you like your BUN?", I assumed I'd be receiving a BUN made from Whole Wheat bread. Nope. Two pieces of large floppy sandwich bread that looked like Oroweat bread from Safeway. Apparently getting a Whole Wheat Bun costs an extra $1.00
tl;dr They left out multiple items from our pickup order, and their online ordering menu is vague to the point of receiving something very different from what I thought I ordered. I do not plan to order from Boulevard...
Read moreYour typical local burger joint. Nice spacious parking area. When I came by, it was a bit empty. Ordered their standard Blvd burger with a double patty and garlic fries. I could smell the garlic before it even came out. A good sign that it’s a legit garlic fries. Burger looked great. The patties are 1/3 lb so getting the double was a bit much. I would personally ask for extra onions. I would love to give this place 5 stars for the food but I have high standards for burgers. Still giving 5 stars overall because I had a great experience. The burger didn’t seem to have enough “beefiness”. It also felt like it was more medium-well than medium as ordered. Lastly, seemed like the burger could benefit from being salted. However, it was still a great burger. As a single, the ~$10 price felt like a great deal. The fries also seemed like a good deal at about $5. For what you get, other places would charge upwards of $8-10. Fries were ok though. Definitely enough garlic, but not quite what I’d want in fries. 100% would...
