I am a Vietnam veteran so my wife likes to take me out on Veterans Day, it is also our wedding anniversary, and I like to take her out to celebrate. There is no nice restaurants in Banning, were we live. My wife suggested we try Cielo Restaurant. The atmosphere was very pleasant, then things got bad. Wen we order our meal, Jared, our waiter, told us it will take 45 minutes to prepare them, so my wife order Brie as an appetizer. She order pasta with vegetables for dinner and I order the Kansas City Stake, with mushrooms and onions on top. We had coffee to drink. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes to serve our dinner. The brie was barely melted. The bottom part was a solid piece. The pasta had no flavor and it also had to much butter, or oil. My plate came with a large piece of meat with no sites. I was never told that this meal was a la carte. Jared, our waiter told me the meat will be pink inside and juicy. I responded that is the way I like it. But the steak was over cooked, dry and fatty . More than once I had to take pieces of gristle from my mouth. I left quite of bit of the steak, because it was no possible to eat it. Very gross. We requested refill for our coffee, four times and we were served 3 times. We wore never asked for refills them self. A restaurant employee call us the next day and asked about our experience. When I told her she was shocked and asked if I would talk to the manager. I said yes. She told me he would call right away. But he didn't. When I reach out to the restaurant, days later, I was told they will hand deliver the message directly to BOB, the restaurant manager. He never did contacted me. A week later my wife and I went back to the restaurant to talk to BOB, the manager of the restaurant. BOB informed us that brie is no serve like fondued. My wife told BOB it is also no serve as a block of cheese. When we told BOB about the pasta dish, he told us it was our fault no to report it. When I told BOB about my steak, he told me it was my fault no to say anything. My wife and I were raised not to waist food, so we didn't said anything, but also, we could not believe that this beautiful and elegant restaurant serve these inferior quality of food and charge these expensive prices. I would never have posted this if I did no feel ignore by BOB, the manager of the restaurant. He also make us feel ignorant about how food is serve. If there is a Supervisor above BOB, who would like to talk to me or my wife about our experience, our names are Cecilia and Brian Ramsey, and we had dinner on...

We originally wanted to go with our whole family of 12 people to celebrate my grandmas birthday. They would not allow the 12 of us to come, they would not allow us to sit at tables of 6 and 6. They said the max to come would be 8 people. We adapted our family to only have 8 people. On the phone the guy making the reservation kept bringing up stipulations for our reservation. You know you have to put a card on file, right? Yes okay. You know its a food and beverage minimum of $500? Yes okay. Please arrive 15 minutes before your reservation, you will not be seated if your entire party is not there. The phone call was not the most pleasant/customer service oriented.
We come to Morongo for the birthday dinner. An hour prior to our reservation my mom, sister and I went up to Cielo to see if they could hold the flowers for our table/reservation and the cake that we brought for my grandma. We were told by the manager that the tables aren't even set up yet. Okay, but could it be held until they are? Then the manager said okay. We ask about the cake, he says does it have to be kept cool? We say no, it doesn't need to be. He says: okay well good then, we don't have any space in our coolers. He then says, you know we have a cake cutting fee per person. We said okay, never heard of that before but great.
Our reservation is at 5:30pm. We are there 15 minutes prior, they seat us. Service is extremely slow the entire time. So slow that we end up leaving the whole dinner at 8:30pm. 3 hours for a meal! When it came time for our dinner to come out, my dad's pork chop was stone cold. My grandmas pasta needed reheated. My crab legs were just warm. My dad said okay, can I just get a quick steak instead because this pork chop is cold, steaks are pretty quick to heat up. 30 minutes go by and still no meal for my dad. It gets to the point where we are just ready to have the cake and close out the bill. My dad never had a dinner plate. The manager came over to talk with us. He started off saying that my dad ordered his pork chop that way. My dad ordered it as a medium, not to be served stone cold. The manager was not gracious, he was not friendly, he was confrontational and abrasive.
We were not charged the cold pork chop or the steak he never got, but from this experience (and the last experience we had at Cielo where our steaks were not cooked to the right temperature) we will never be going...
Read moreI have been a longtime customer with Morongo Casino and Cielo for nearly a decade. When it comes to special occasions such as celebrating Valentine's Day, birthday, or simply a getaway, Morongo Casino and Cielo has always been my top choice as to spend a day with the loved ones to make someone creating good memories. Unfortunately, I was mistreated by the Cielo Manager, Robert Volpe on the Valentine's Day February 14, 2019. The incidence was happened at 06:30pm on February 14, 2019 at the reception desk in Cielo. I had my online reservation for 06:30pm and arrived about the right time. A line of people were waiting to check-in at the reception desk. When I was up to the next one in line, one of the customer cut in front of me and had checked-in his reservation for 06:45pm. Afterward, I went up to the reception desk for my check-in. Mr. Robert Volpe was the person who took my check-in at the reception desk at that moment. After a few minutes past, the customer who cut me off had received a table ahead of me. I went up to the restaurant manager, Mr. Robert Volpe and informed him that his arrangement was not appropriate because that customer was cutting in line to check-in, which Mr. Robert Volpe had noticed that but did not react on that matter. I also mentioned to Mr. Robert Volpe that my reservation was earlier than that customer. I asked how could he received his table ahead of me when he has reservation under 06:45pm and I had 06:30pm. Mr. Robert Volpe was being very unprofessionally to take my complaint while keeping busy to look at his computer screen. He was ignoring my concern and questions. He would not look at me while we were having the conversation but looked away and pretended nothing were happened. I was very disappointed on this restaurant manager, who's in such a huge corporation, would being disrespectful and acting irresponsible to their customer.
My experiences with Cielo had been pleasant in the past. Unfortunately, the encounter with the manager of Cielo was such a huge disappointments. It was quite fuming because I came to Cielo to celebrate the Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2019 but did not treat fairly. I am very upset that Mr. Robert Volpe had ruined my special night. I had contacted the Morongo Casino for the regarding matter but did not receive any responses. Don't let other 5 starts reviews fool you, I believed most of them are fake or...
