My Mother has eaten here most Mondays or Wednesdays since you have opened. What happened Monday May 22nd was completely unacceptable. Rude does not even begin to describe your hostess last night. The only way I can describe it is pure prejudice. She attempted to make a reservation as has been normal practice. The hostess explained no reservations tonight just come when we are ready to eat. She followed her instructions to find out that she would not be able to eat because her name wasn't on the list. A list she wasn't my offered and wasn't even told she needed to be on. When she asked about the list she was yelled at the hostess screamed " well there wasn't one but there is now" Because my Mom questioned her practices she was labeled rude and she was refused service. To be clear my Mom doesn't have a rude bone in her body and she was shocked by the hostess reaction. With the way she was treated she felt it would be better to just order Togo. The hostess then lied to her for the second time and said that they don't do takeout as she watched 3-4 to go orders being packed right in front of her. The final straw was when the hostess realized my Mother wasn't going anywhere she seated her and the hostess then bad mouthed my Mother to her waitress and enrolled the waitress into continuing this bad treatment and poor behavior. Unbelievable that a woman who has supported your business once a week , every week, and who has always tipped well treated everyone with kindness and respect would ever experienced anything like this in her lifetime. She was so upset I had to write...
Read moreWe came here for a late lunch on a Saturday since we were already at Morongo and my mom wanted clam chowder. We didn't have a reservation so we just sat at the bar which was fine by us and pretty neat because you can watch them make the soups and prep other ingredients.
The clam chowder was excellent! Just creamy enough with chunks of seafood and a little bit of spice. I really enjoyed their crackers too!
My only thing was their absolutely wild policy about no take out and the service. We originally wanted to do take out and apparently, the best that they could do for us was have us sit down and order and then ask for a take out container.... Which we did... And no one gave us a takeout container when we asked. After asking twice and no one returned, we just started eating there cause I don't think they would like us taking their bowls.
We finished pretty quick (since the portions aren't massive) and we asked for the check and paid in cash... Then we sat there for an additional 15 minutes waiting for our change. We were going to give a majority of it to our server, but she never came back. Like she went on break and just assumed all of it was her tip, I guess. Either way, at this point, it wasn't worth it to ask anyone considering the top notch service they had already given us (sarcasm) so we just left.
I'm not...
Read morePescato is a small restaurant located right in front of the Marketplace Buffet inside Morongo Casino. They offer only bar style sitting so not recommended for small children. They have a limited menu which includes items like shrimp cocktail, pan roasts, cioppino, crab legs, lobster. We went on a Monday night so it was pretty busy. I think it's because the buffet and the steak house are both closed on Mondays so there are limited options. After we got seated, we ordered the Steam Pot, the Crab Pan Roast and a clam chowder. The calm chowder was pretty tasty. Not too salty but it came out pipping hot so watch out. Then came the steam pot and crab pan roast which both came with crab. They provided all the utensils to eat the crab which was nice. Both were pretty tasty. I like the steam pot more since I wasn't too into the tomato broth. Service was slow though. They only had like 5 people working service and cooking. One person shucking the oysters/calms. 2 were cooking the meals and 2 serving. So be prepared to wait for getting your order taken and for the food to come. Other than that the food was good. Will come back if I'm...
