Hey there breakfast lovers, listen up because I have some seriously good news for your taste buds. I recently had the pleasure of indulging in a breakfast at Dennys and let me tell you, it was nothing short of a mouthwatering adventure. Now, I know what you're thinking. "Dennys? Isn't that just the place where drunk people stumble in at 3am for some greasy diner food?" Well, let me tell you, my friend, you couldn't be more wrong. Sure, Dennys may be a popular late-night spot for party-goers, but their breakfast game is on point. First of all, let's talk about the menu. It's like a breakfast lover's dream come true. From fluffy pancakes to sizzling bacon, Dennys has it all. And don't even get me started on their famous Grand Slam breakfast. It's like a breakfast buffet on a plate, and it's enough to make anyone's mouth water. But enough about the menu, let's get to the real star of the show - the food. I ordered the Lumberjack Slam, because let's be real, I like my breakfasts like I like my men - hearty and satisfying. And boy, did Dennys deliver. The plate was overflowing with three eggs, sausage, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. I didn't even know where to start, but I dove in headfirst like a champ. The eggs were perfectly cooked, the bacon was crispy, and the sausage had just the right amount of spice. But let's take a moment to appreciate those hash browns. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, they were like little bites of breakfast heaven. And those pancakes? They were so thick and fluffy, I could have used them as a pillow. Seriously, I don't know how they do it. Oh, and did I mention the coffee? As a self-proclaimed coffee addict, I can confidently say that Dennys coffee is top-notch. It was the perfect companion to my hearty breakfast feast. But the best part about my Dennys breakfast experience? The price. I walked out of there with a full and happy stomach, and my wallet didn't even feel a pinch. Now that's what I call a win-win situation. So, my fellow breakfast enthusiasts, do yourself a favor and head over to Dennys for your next morning meal. Trust me, you won't regret it. And who knows, you may just become a regular at your local Dennys, just like those late-night party-goers. Read moreDenny's has, over the years, steadily gone downhill. It seems that this is especially true of the ones in Bakersfield and ESPECIALLY if you go in later in the evening. The location on East Brundage is continuously short staffed, and staffed by people that seem more interested in socializing amongst themselves or spending time on their cell phones. One time we went in at 10pm, were seated promptly, but then it took them almost thirty minutes to bring us drinks, and ten minutes after that to take our order. The only reason we did not leave earlier is that my wife and I were so caught up in our conversation, we lost track of time. One hour and ten minutes after being seated, we still had not gotten our order. When we asked, they told us, "The cook is new and short handed, and grumpy tonight." We got up and left and as we were leaving, they came out with part of our order. We told them no, and went to pay for the drinks, but they told us they were free because of the wait. When I later reported this issue do Denny's corporate, all I got was a canned letter saying that they disapproved of this and would take care of it. About a month later we went in again, and nothing had changed. It was all the same. This last Monday (25 Oct 2021, about 1:30am) we went in because we had just gotten back from out of town, were hungry and needed SOMETHING... We were seated quickly. There were only my son and I and one other couple in the place. Took ten minutes to get our ice teas. We were told they were out of regular fries (I get that.. lots of places are out of things now.) and when we ordered the Cali Club they brought us a regular club sandwich, which I had been told on a prior visit was not even on the menu anymore. After the food was dropped off, the server, who was not dressed like he worked there, was MIA. Nowhere to be seen. No refills on our iced tea. When we were done eating, I stood, looked around and saw him back near the door to the back of the restaurant playing with his phone. He only came up when we approached the counter to pay. Times like this I have no issue with...
Read moreI am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with my service tonight. We were greeted upon entering. The waitress had come up to us after a while of standing and asked if we were going to be dining in because the cook was going on break. We kindly said we would wait and she just walked away leaving us standing there. About 10 minutes later we asked if we could be seated because she hadn’t seated us yet and she pointed to an area we would sit in. After seating ourselves another 15 minutes later she then decides to give us the menus and take our order for drinks. She was very hesitant to even help us and extremely unprofessional. After we received our food she disappeared and we didn’t see her the rest of the visit. We then had to ask the chef if we could get a box and the check which he did so very quickly and in a kind manner. We greatly appreciated that after the waitresses poor service. Needless to say extra training or an extra person for the night shift might be helpful. On a side note I wish very much that the cook would receive the tip because in the small amount of time he helped us not not only did he change the entire attitude of our night and made us think about returning but picked up the slack of his...
