I was in the mood for a good grilled cheese sandwich. And as we all know it's always the combo best of grilled cheese and tomato soup. So let me start at the beginning. It was not busy. Infact there was 3 tables with customers on my side of the place. One man at one table a couple at another and a woman with 2 kids. I was seated at a table facing the parking lot and the sun was directly in my eyes. I asked the young man to please close the blinds like the other tables. And he did (it still shone thru but I fixed it). He came back a few minutes later with a menu and asked me would I like something to drink. I said water. (Never got it) then seemed like a long time later a woman came to take my order and I ordered the grilled cheese and soup combo. BUT there was no tomato soup on the menu. There were two soups. But only offered on certain days. This day was Beef Vegetable. Had I come a different day Chicken noodle. So that's what I ordered. Still no water. After about 10plus minutes my food came and I said I asked for water. And after a few minutes I finally got it. The grilled cheese looked good. Even though it was grilled so good a lot of the cheese had melted out on the plate and had harden enough I couldn't get it back to the sandwich. Still good. The plate also had two corner slices of garlic bread. I guess for the soup. A little over kill since I had a xlgrilled sandwich. But ok Well let's get to the soup. It looked ok. Dark brown broth with lots of veggies in it and small cubes of meat. Well I was very hungry by now and gulped down three spoon fulls of the soup. And immediately ate some bread and drank lots of water. The soup had the horrible taste of eating SALT. It was so bad I could hardly get the taste out if my mouth. I could nit see the waitress or the young man to tell them. I proceeded to eat the grilled cheese and it was good. But I couldn't get the taste of that soup. I finished half of my sandwich and finally saw the waitress and called her over. I asked for a to go box for the other half of my sandwich and told her about the soup. Well she didn't say sorry or can I get you something else instead. She proceeded to casually stand next to me and tell me about how she doesn't like Beef vegetable soup and she didn't know which cook made it and she likes the chicken noodle that some other cook makes and before she could go on and on I asked for the check. I boxed my 1/2 sandwich and went to pay the check. But there was no one there and I didn't see her and finally she came and I paid and left. Unfortunately I couldn't get the salt taste out of my mouth until I got home and brushed my teeth and used mouthwash. No fun when all you can taste is Beef Vegetable Salt. Please don't order it IF you...
Read moreThis morning me and my girlfriend were waiting to be seated here as an African-American male rudely brushed past my girlfriend and she currently is pregnant. I turned and looked at the mail and said excuse me instead of him realizing what he did he got very violent and loud which I could tell scared my girlfriend. The cashier at Denny's some mixed woman with a scarf tied around her head then said she was going to call the cops and we all need to calm down even though she saw this man push my girlfriend it seemed to be that she was on his side or that she knew h him because she then took him outside and talked with him for longer than a brief moment as she came back inside she said we aren't going to have any of that implying that my girlfriend and I were the cause of the problem as if we were the aggressors. I couldn't believe that another woman would disregard the safety of a pregnant woman and imply that we were the ones being the aggressors of the situation as we were seated the man from earlier came up to the window knocked on it and flipped me off. My girlfriend and I were in disbelief. We could not believe that the staff was continuing to allow this violent man to stay on the premises. We immediately left the establishment in utter disbelief of the fact that the lady came outside and said she was then calling the cops on us. My girlfriend and I had not eaten anything yet. So it's not like we didn't pay and walked out. I am in shock about how Denny's handled the situation seriously astonished and baffled that another cashier would have the ignorance to not only seem like she was siding with the mail about pushing a pregnant woman and not being able to say excuse me because in the end that's all I was asking him to do. But had the audacity to act like we were the problems. I mean she didn't even ask if my girlfriend was okay or if we were okay she just looked at me with discussion said we aren't going to have any of that I believe this customer service was not only disrespectful but also unprofessional will not be eating here again I would have taken pictures but honestly this place isn't worth the time I mean who wants to eat somewhere where you could be assaulted and treat it as if you were the one being the aggressor when all you're doing is trying to protect your family. This place deserves zero Stars and I may be a...
Read moreNot a local, but I do try to make a point of visiting the local Denny's for Breakfast / Lunch on my trips to the States. Appearance: Normal for a Denny's. It was fairly quiet, so little footfall. Atmosphere: Detached, unenthusiastic. Didn't seem to be concerned with giving a memorable dining-experience, more with getting customers in and out. Service: Cold demeanour, food was slow to arrive. Plates effectively dumped on the table and left to our own devices. Server forgot part of our order, didn't materialze until a good 10mins after. Staff: A poor example of customer-service. Really gave the impression that they didn't want to be there. Pro-tip: Correcting a customer (not me) from what you misheard, and using the reasoning of "Because you're from out of town, and I figured English isn't your first language...", is a BIG No-No in the Service-Industry. No tact. Disappointing. Cleanliness: This one is a bit questionable. The overall look of the dining-area was presentable. HOWEVER, when you sit down to eat, and an adjoining table fails to be cleared and cleaned from a full lunch service for a family of three for A FULL HOUR, that really leads to some serious questioning of the restaurant's hygiene. Food: Average at-best. I've had better. Doesn't help that it gave both myself and my dining-companion very upset stomachs afterward.
Verdict: I've had far better experiences than what was given to me. I would very seriously-consider dining elsewhere if one is in the area, and looking to get a mix of both good food and...
