Don Lalos Mexican Food — Restaurant in California

Sadly, after so many wonderful years serving our community with decent affordable food I can't reliably recommend this local haunt. The counter service was dismissive at best and the food was not to their old standards. The carne asada burrito was mostly gristle according to my companion and my basic breakfast burrito had an off flavor I couldn't identify. More aggravating, the staff willingly allowed a disordered wannabe guitar god to make a nuisance at our table.They simply watched as I repeatedly asked him to leave us alone.If I thought it was a one off I wouldn't downgrade from 4 stars to 1 but service has been declining for awhile and though the food was usually good, not this time. Allowing street people to buy beer, occupy a table and solicit customers is not acceptable. To watch it and do nothing warrants a 1 star. Come on Angel, you have done well with your other locations. RUDE STAFF.

Hate to do this but I have always had great service until I started to visit on weekends and times during the week when the older lady that works the counter has a real attitude for some reason. Most items we asked for she said " we don't serve that anymore " even for a salad she said you had no lettuce If that's the reason and it's true take it off your menu. The item I asked for was available two days prior to this day because we purchased it.

She seemed to also have issues with cooks. And having an argument in front of customers We tend to eat several days a month. , but if she continues to behave like this you will loose alot of customers. Don't let this happen, lots of other Mexican...

I came here she micheladas and appetizers with a friend. First time I got chips and salsa and was disappointed. They didn’t have guacamole and their salsa was a miss for me. The spicy sauce was really spicy though so I liked that but no flavor. Their French fries though are incredible. They taste like McDonald’s fries and they give you double the amount for only $4. I’ve never had a Michelada before but I feel like it could have been better. And the mix was just ok. Will still go back for one and definitely for the fries. The decor is not it.
