TLDR: interior makeover, cannot make up for poultry portions and sad salsa bar. $8 for a bean rice and cheese burrito that was listed on their menu for $6? No chips with your burrito? Seems like this place is punishing non-meat eaters. For $.50 more I could’ve gotten a Kearny Asada or chicken burrito. That would have been bigger. Why are they charging premium prices for a BRC? Especially when there’s absolutely nothing to write home about it and barely any cheese? I’ve been going here since I was a kid at least getting Mexican food at this location. The salsa bar is depressing and it seems like the new management is more concerned with an aseptic interior than an authentic Mexican food experience. I really wanted to give this place a shot because I always just end up at Jim and robs but I guess that’s for a reason. They at least provide value for your $$.

I recently ate here while visiting my daughter and it was delicious. The shrimp taco on the homemade corn tortilla and the al pastor quesadilla was so yum and flavorful. The guacamole they make was fresh and creamy and I really enjoyed their avocado salsa that they provide for free in their salsa bar (I went through about 4 of them). My daughter also loved her veggie fajita plate. If I lived closer I would be here all the time!

This is the second time I've gone to El Jarro. My friends said I had to try it. First offering was the al pastor burrito. Really good. Today I had them fix me up a chicken fajita burrito bowl. The chicken was spiced nicely I did add some of their hot sauce which was right there at the edge of my tolerance super yummy.

I have tried to eat here on two occasion's... the 1st time was quite disheartening. The portions are small the food was bland the service was uninformed and uninvolved and uninspired and unintrested. The 2nd time moments ago I was charged $10.50 for a teaspoon of cafe ole' in some hot water no cream and a $3 value burrito. ( Not my 1st burrito) Not intrested in providing the service you are asking for only intrested in harvesting your money. I will never go back. I don't care if the...
