WOW what a place! we stumbled upon it on our way back thru Ramona. Nothing gives it away from the outside, but step-in and u r in a sacred space, made so by Emilia Cervantes (the owner and founder) Her presence is felt and reflected in the pictures on the walls. I have experienced this kind of devotion as a child and it is an unforgettable experience, reminding us all of the purpose of our human existence! We've been going to this place for so many years whenever we visit Ramona area. If you want authentic Mexican food come here. It's such a old funky down to earth Restaurant. So don't expect anything special as far as fancy. It's like time never changed here. The only reason I'm giving them. 4 stars today is because we were very rushed as they were expecting an event and only had 30 minutes to eat. We enjoyed our food as always and wish there was something in San Diego that was comparative. The staff was friendly although they were in a rush for an event that would be taking place. El michoacan's restaurant is a great place for authentic made to order Mexican food. Their staff are very pleasant & welcoming, make you feel like your home with the family. Open concept restaurant, that has a very neat & old school feel to it. Has the older tradition fire pit in the middle for those cooler evening's that i look forward too. Ramona summers ARE hot! Ha! But if your from ramona u know the place & if your new to the area or just passing through? I highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner with the fam! We have never had a bad experience & the food is constantly on point. Just good...
