Fallbrook Cafe — Restaurant in California

If you like dining at a place where they regularly commit WAGE THEFT from their employees, then by all means, go ahead and make these dirtbags rich. But if you have any morals at all, you should ask them why they always hire young waitresses that are financially vulnerable already, and then fail to PAH them their earned wages and tips while they work at this dive. And the family of the owners knows that they will do this year after year, yet they still fleece the waitresses. They rip off so many waitresses year after year after year, and I can't wait til the IRS, state compensation fund, and the franchise tax board catches up with them. You will be prosecuted eventually Fallbrook Cafe!!! There are hundreds of waitresses including me, that you owe thousands of dollars to!!! And I won't stop writing terrible reviews until you crooks pay me with Interest what you owe me when you ripped me off back in 2009 during the weeks prior to the Avocado fest. Shame on you Fallbrook Cafe! I can't wait til you all are indicted by the State of California and the Dept of Insurance and the franchise tax board for tax evasion, and work comp and insurance fraud, and wage theft!!! Your time is running out!! That's a promise!!! Pay what you stole from hundreds of your employees since 2008 you have committed Grand Larceny and Grand Theft of wages. Both of which are felonies that result in jail time for each employee and each theft wage theft occurence.. Pay what you owe all your former employees or wait for the federal charges and the cellblock at the Federal Penn!! Customers, if you like to patronise businesses that lie, defraud, and commit grand theft of wages, then keep eating here, because you must enjoy making these thugs and crooks wealthy. If I could give the Falbrook Cafe a triple z minus, I would and negative a billion stars I would. Pay up to the hundreds of women that worked for their tips and wages only to get hoodwinked and robbed. There is no excuse for your restaurant to hire anybody then fail to pay their wages and rob them of their earned tips. I will not stop telling the truth about this awful business that gets wealthy because they don't pay their waitresses. You cause a lot of heartache and major problems for the honest and loyal waitresses you hire then rip them off. These restaurant owners deserve prison time and felony criminal grand larceny and grand theft convictions!! Say no to businesses that commit wage theft!! Say no to the Fallbrook Cafe!! Very unpleasant dining experience. I took my adult daughters to Fallbrook Cafe for breakfast on a busy Sunday. No one greeted me when I walked in and I stood at the register for several minutes before anyone helped me. We wrote our name on the wait list and waited for 20 minutes until we started to see people that came in after us getting sat. I again had to stand at the register for several minutes before someone helped me and then I saw that our name had been crossed out on the list. I let the manager know that our name had never been called and that we had been sitting right there the whole time. The manager did not apologize to me and then confronted the hostess right in front of us who also did not apologize and proceeded to glare at us. We had to wait several more minutes for someone else to leave and then the hostess took us to our table without saying a word, threw down menus and stalked off. She came back to take our drink orders, and literally did not smile one time nor did she respond when we thanked her. We waited for a long time for the waitress to take our food orders and she walked up without a smile and said, "what do you want." She spoke bruskly, and acted like we were annoying her when we paused a second when she asked what kind of toast we wanted (she didn't give us the options) and then smarmily said, "oh you're not very prepared, did I not give you enough time?" Food was blah, ambiance totally uninspiring not to mention cramped and loud, but most of all, the staff was...

You know those places you feel instantly welcome every one smiles, they greet you when you come in, and keep checking on you? Well this isn't one of them.

My wife and I were stared at. We were glared at, by the cook and the waitress. We weren't greeted, we were apprehensive. They do not have pork alternatives, so no turkey or chicken sausage/bacon. There were no gluten free items, and certainly no low carb alternatives. But we stayed anyways.

I asked for the special, a salad, a bowl of soup, a turkey sandwich. I asked for no potatoes - wasn't asking for a credit nor substitute. The soup tasted alright, wasn't the list of ingredients however. The "salad" was chopped greens and dressing. The sandwich... came with no bread, was simply turkey and gravey with mashed potatoes. I asked for no potatoes, got em anyways. Severely disappointed with the "sandwich".

My wife first asked for a turkey ruben. This is simply a ruben where you take out the corned beef, and put in turkey. Apparently this costs $1.79 extra because they have to add saurkraut. Since its part of the ruben, this didn't make sense. So instead of that, she ordered a chicken salad sandwich on raisin toast, no tomatoes. Hers came with tomatoes anyways. She got fries, a pickle, and a side of fruit. Once she picked out the tomato, it was ok, but nothing special. She also asked for iced tea,said it was bitter.

Overall, it was a terrible experience, we will not be back. I highly recommend you do NOT...
