Stopped by early on a Friday for there. Reminds me of an old packing house or rustic dry storage facility. Really liked the old building it resides in. As far as food, wife had the coal burger with house made chips. Burger was kind of a smash burger style with a little crispiness on the patty and cheese. For me, It had a little too much lettuce on it, but good flavor and bun was fresh. I had the pulled pork sandwich with slaw on the side and roasted veggies. Pork was a little bland an kind of soggy. Same type of bun as the burger and had some pickled jalapeños on it but could have used some more bbq sauce to add some flavor. The slaw was bomb as well as the roasted veggies. Slaw was really good and made fresh. Roasted veggies were a lovely caramelized surprise of sweet peppers, mushrooms, onions and zucchini. I would definitely go back for the slaw and veggies. We brought the kids and they had a kids menu with some basic kid options. Girl had the hotdog and was on a toasted buttery bun and flavorfull dog. Overall, cool comfortable place with inviting staff and great...
Read moreWhat a cute little eatery. The entrance is decorated in Mickey Mouse Halloween decor which I love. Up a few stairs into a sweetly decorated cafe with a large bar. The decor is very eclectic which I also love! Very pleasantly surprised by this cute little gem in the village. Being our first visit the waiters name was Ernesto and was great at explaining the menu and how everything is made in house and was very patient spending a few minutes going over all the questions we had about the menu. My husband and I both got the Bunker burger and it was literally the best burger I have ever eaten!! The crispy potatoes took me back to my teen days when I worked in a little cafe in northern Cali. Topped the crispy potatoes with their house made thousand island sauce. Amazing!!! And their house made ketchup was also delicious. Truly the best burger joint we have ever been to. I’m not a huge burger lover but this place just raised the bar and we will only be coming here when the hubby is in the mood for...
Read moreThis new restaurant in Fallbrook is slowly rolling out under COVID conditions and doing a great job of it. They have set up outdoor dining and take-out to serve customers while renovating the interior. It is a beautiful space and some very nice people but the real star here is the food. The 'poor man's' choice here is the Shepherd's Pie, and it is just fantastic. Delicious beef, colorful crisp vegetables, and a thin layer of whipped potatoes with a little bit of caramelization. Wonderful. The Winter Squash sandwich was a big hit, flavorful and substantive. But the best, the absolute star, was the macaroni and cheese. A lot of people make good mac and cheese, and some places try to step it up by adding bacon or pork belly or whatever, but a great mac and cheese is based on great mac and great cheese. I am not sure what they are doing to this version but I can only hope they keep doing it. Beer and wine available. Highly...
