Unfortunately, Franks fell very shorts for us. We decided to give it a try after finding out Da'boyz closed. We ordered a variety of things to get a good idea for the place. A pizza, a sandwich, a salad, and some fries off the starter menu. Right from pick up we started to encounter issues. When my husband got our change back they only gave him the bills and tried to keep the change. That is a very small thing i understand, but to me is just bad business. We normally tip well and would have left the change plus extra. When we got home with the food was the biggest issues. We are vegetarians and asked for no meat on the pizza, granted we didnt mention being vegetarian, just asked to replace the meat with more veg. The woman we spoke to was nice and helpful so the 2 stars im leaving are for her being kind and helpful. I the kids arent vegetarian so we gave them a piece and they immediately refused to eat it. We tried a piece and instantly knew the pizza was rotten. To the point of fermentation, someone mentioned maybe it was beer crust and the taste was just yeast. Then we tried an individual piece of pineapple and knew it was rotten. We called and informed them and they did immediately no issues offer us a new pizza. While I do appreciate that, its still a hastle to drive all the way back. The next pizza was good, and everyone was happy with it. It just was too late at that point we didnt understand how we ended up with such an awful first pizza to begin with. The taste difference was literally like we had left the knew pizza on the counter to rot in the hot sun for several days. The sandwich bread was very soggy and only one bite was taken. Reheated today someone mentioned it was better. The house salad was quite good. That was my order and i was happy with it, though it was slightly small for 9 dollars. The fries had a wonderful taste but again were soggy. The sandwich and fry sogginess may have to do with the packaging not being breathable and steam. If you did eat here I would recommend eating in at the store front. It was quite nice looking inside. I wish it would have worked out, unfortunately the only person who ate a full piece of that first pizza thinking it was just beer yeast was at...
Read moreAmazing!! That's all I can say. Food is delicious! Pizza is on point! Cheese is high quality and flavorful, sauce is exactly as you want, dough is perfected. San Diegans (Im from Pacific Beach) you need to come here if you want good pizza and good beer! I took my pie to go and I couldnt have been happier with the flavor....the service was on point and set the bar for what service in San Diego always should be. The beer was perfect as there was no sign of a,"flat beer." The perfect beer on draft! I had the Red Trolley, however they have a couple IPAs, and light beer too. sometimes pizza and light beer can make a grear combo!!
If you live in San Diego, and especially east county, and you love pizza, and beer, and sports at a quiet spot that isnt very big at all, then this is a great spot for you.
Fellas bring your lady on a nice easy going date here....its simple and fun, plus the employees are wonderful and make you feel at home. Not the place to go out and get tore up, but most definitely the place to go if you want an easy going night with a 3 or 4 beers and a good pizza and madbe a wednesday or thursday night padres game.
5 stars all the way....everything is perfect from the food, to the service, to the beer....a couple tvs for a Padres game or some Sunday football and this is it.
Its small but great for dates and small...
Read moreI really wanted to rate this at a 5. The pizza was very good. I was extremely disappointed with the fact that there were 3 very loud men in the restaurant, other than myself and a friend, and these men were extremely disruptive, yelling, laughing and disturbing the meal that my friend and I were sharing. These men were clearly drunk, and I got the impression they worked at the pizza place. They would get up and walk outside, come back into the restaurant multiple times. Management didn’t do anything as i let the very young waitress know about the excessively loud noise. The waitress looked like she was in high school maybe, the daughter of the owner(s). The noise didn’t really get better. When my friend and I left these 3 men who appeared drunk were yelling stuff at my friend and I, which came across as harassment and was extremely uncomfortable. I’m very disappointed and upset nothing was done to address this. I hope this doesn’t happen to any other customers. I don’t plan on...
