An utter disappointment with the food and service. I ordered California Burrito, Carne Asada Fries, pickled veggies and fried jalapeños for a take out. The Carne Asada Fries made me vomit from the first bite: soggy fries uncooked in the middle, probably frozen fries thrown in the microwave, lots of nasty cheese all over, the meat was overcooked, dried and hard to chew, cardboard consistency and a "dead man" taste to it. Both items had cold pockets and barely warm, which made me wondered if they were ever cooked or just frozen meals thrown in a microwave and not even long enough??
Guac not fresh, probably bought from the store, and some watery sour cream on top. That for $15. The California Burrito was the same. I took a bite and same awful ingredients and horrible taste. I had a horrible indigestion and was sick until the next day after eating some of this awful meal. The pickled veggies were ok, although I had to throw them away too because they were incredibly spicy, like they poured the entire bottle of pepper on them. The fried jalapeños were not even fried, but almost raw, so what's the point of advertising them as fried? $35 for a dinner for two worthy of the garbage can. Oh, and the portions are incredibly small for the price. Carne asada fries is a thin layer of rubbish, most of it nasty cheese and the burrito is very thin and small with just a spoon of ingredients.
My first time here, waited 10 minutes for the server to finish her chat and come take the order. I was trying to get some info about the food because the menu was displayed over different walls and I could not see it from the cash register. I was the only customer and she gave me all kinds of attitude for asking simple questions about the ingredients.
I was happy to discover and support a mom and pop Mexican store close to my new home, but not anymore. I will keep traveling all the way to Los Rancheritos in Lakeside for the exquisite food...
Read moreThe service: was friendly unfortunately the cashier didn't tell me there was a choice for my California burrito. I could choose from french fries or diced potatoes so she decided for me without asking. ( the wrong choice by the way)
Cleanliness of establishment: Good Cleanliness of bathroom: (Didn't enter)
Extras: You have to pay for the pickled carrots and onions one dollar for bag, most places I've visited offer these for free at a salsa bar. Only two choices of hot sauces mild and spicy and only red. Neither were very impressive.
Food: Pollo asada burrito was OK, down side the chicken was not seasoned or marinated it was plain. California burrito was OK, unfortunately in this establishment they don't include guacamole or sour cream, it's extra. You do get to choose if you want french fries or diced potato's ( unfortunately they don't say that in the menu and cashier didn't tell me until afterwards when I asked why does my California burrito have...
Read moreThis place is a rip off! Went here as a last resort cause Saritas was too far for my preference. Called in a to-go order, was told 15-20 minute wait. Got there within the timeframe, paid $17 + tip. I grabbed the bag and it was LIGHT AF. When I opened the box in my car, There was barely any food WORTH $17. Saritas is better packed than this! I can see the bottom of the container due to the fact they didn't pack it appropriately to the price...
The entire box was cold af. The cheese was barely melted, there were random a$$ squirts of guacamole & sour cream (mind you the guac is bland too), and ONE LAYER OF FRIES. The food was bland, the carne asade was REALLY tough. Last time I went here, the carne asada fries were decent but not like this.. this was trash & a waste of money. Saritas is better. Or atleast any other mex-food spot than this place. Such a disappointment, especially when you're hungry, pregnant, and looking for a craving to...
