Kiwanis of Fletcher Hills and La Mesa had our annual Twilight Tasting Fundraiser event here last Saturday 9/21/24. It was an amazing place to host an event, the grounds are so beautiful and well kept, the staff was so accommodating to our needs with everything. They even moved furniture and potted plants, signs etc. We did not have to add any lighting, we also saved money by not having to rent tables and chairs. We were able to start setting up before they closed to the public which was also extremely helpful. They had a person on staff stay there the entire night in case we needed anything, Hannah was excellent and very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend this venue for your event. I also went back today, Friday 9/27 with my friend’s 2 year old son. It was the perfect place for him to run around and explore. He loved the butterfly enclosure even though we didn’t see any. He also loved all the water features, big blocks on a kid size picnic table, sand box, John Deer Tractor and play house. And they also provide free ice pops and drinking water. The gift shop has super cute handmade items too. We stayed for about 2 hours and he absolutely loved it and then took a 2 hour nap!! We didn’t even walk the entire park.

The Water Conservation Garden is located in El Cajon next door to the Cuyamaca College. It’s purpose is to educate everyone of all ages and inspire to conserve water while utilizing natural resources through interactive exhibits and programs. The garden features themed gardens, games, musical instruments, vegetable garden, koi fishes, butterfly pavilion and much more. The garden allows visitors to explore trails while educating with interesting facts throughout. Tips: From the main entrance, through the plaza we made our way to the right side, mainly because there are musical instruments, the butterfly pavilion and the secret water sprinkler. All those areas do take time while the Garden Exhibit (left hand side) is more of a stroll and observing. After we went around the loop we went through the middle area where there is a gift shop with ice cold treats for the kiddos. Free on-site parking lot area is available (if parking does get overflown, there is also dirt parking in the same area) Bathrooms are located near the main entrance Gift shop with snacks are available. Garden Admission: Adults $11, Children $8 3-17 years old), $7 (2 & under), Seniors $11 Closed on Mondays Garden workshops are available

I had my wedding here on November 22, 2014. It was gorgeous!!!!! There was plenty of space for everything we wanted to do and the grounds are great for bridal photos. We rented the Plaza, covered patio and multi-purpose room. I wanted a ring ceremony and a reception. We had the chairs facing the platform for a nice backdrop and had the dance floor in the adjacent corner with the DJ. We had the food buffet placed just across from the gift shop. With the strung lights overhead and in the bushes it made for elegant background lighting. We also were able to rent standing 3 light lanterns which added to the atmosphere nicely. We rented furniture and heaters, which that time of year it was needed. Heather helps us so much with providing us with a floor plan to ensure it would fit our needs and a tour of the property with details about time frame, insurance and other regulations we had to follow. The entire time we were there we had all of our needs met. Even the night before when I was 1.5 hours late to the rehearsal, they kept the plaza open for us to rehearse and I couldn't thank them enough for that. This was the perfect place for me to get married because I love being loud, dancing, mingling, nature and this had it all. I looked at lots of other places in the San Diego area and this one was the best price, time frame (4-10pm with set up from 1-4), accommodations and we were able to select our own caterer and cake to be brought in. The flexibility made this location fit into our budget perfectly!!! I want to visit this place again as well because the grounds are so gorgeous! I rarely do Google reviews but was so impressed with everything from the Water Conservation Garden that I can't help but spread their GREAT name! Thanks again for making my wedding the BEST DAY...
