Unfortunately, this theatre has taken a real negative plunge in the last few weeks as far as I'm concern. Always remember folks, when someone actually takes the time to write a review one of two things has probably just happened. You either just had a great experience or a not so great. Our last three visits have ssen a real down turn in customer service and cleanliness. I believe there has had to be a change in management recently. Short on staff, new people (managers) and a real bad cleanliness scenario. Today we went to see the new Independence Day movie. We were excited with anticipation. But, No Barb. or James or RB to great us! Then my wife and daughter went to get seats I I went to the very busy concession stands to folk out what I know and accept will be outrageous prices! While waiting, a manager came up and directed some of us to go to a neaby smaller concession area for help with our purchases. We all thought GREAT he's on the ball and doing everything he could to "help us have a 5 star experience." No, that was not the case. We go over there to be abruptly told by another manager that they just closed it. We were stunned! A women then asked that manager, "but surely you are going to help us!" ...right ,we were just directed there? He barely looked up from counting the money from the till and said, "no mam, we are not." We all looked back at the concession stand we just came from and it had twice as many people there now. Our wait would now be twice as long. But, we thought...."surely he wil take us back there and put us in the front of the line or something, right? No, again. I also tried to talk to him and he gave me that condensending look and clearly was not interested in what we had to say. We all then had to go back and wait again in the long line. Then the original manager who intially sent us to the other concession stand came up to me. He asked me if there was a problem. I told him what happen and why. He then asks me this..." What did you expect to happen?" Very defensive posture and tone. I said a little consideration would have been nice. Instead, we all got the infamous "Sorry for the Inconvienence" and he walks away. My father always taught me never to judge a company when everything is going smoothly but rather how do they react when it's not or a mistake has been made. Do they value you really.....are they ready to step up and make it better. Today my favorite theatre quickly reminded several of us tht we not important but our money is. Do I expect a response from this review by their management. NO....I would be shocked. And if any of this causes them any negative impact...SORRY FOR THE...
Read moreNope. Never again. Where to start with the level of corporate greed at this place. Went with family because it so happen to be the only place to watch a Minecraft movie. This was a party of about 8 so I know it's large. However 200.00 for a movie and snacks was a stretch.
Now, where does that money go? I don't know because there are no longer attendants to buy your tickets. You must buy them yourself with your phone or kiosk. Was it for screen maintenance? Nope, screen 8 has large smears on the screen and the place was equally dirty. Was it the drinks? No again had to leave the theater for both a sprite and Pepsi that had gone flat. Was it perhaps janitorial services? Toilet paper in the stall floor. Was it maybe just a bad day and coincidence? Who knows but be the experience was sad. I'll gladly pay at AMC on comparison. Replacing people with machine and or robots with AI later on will only show how cheap you'll keep operations going forgetting that people go there to have a human experience with humans. Maybe to see their teenager at their first job. I don't know. This chain is doing it all wrong for the sake of a "good" quarterly earnings call.
I thought fletcher parkway was a bad one. Anyway. Hope your experience is different.
It's a one and done...
Read moreI really love this theater. The staff is always friendly and the managers are really good problem solvers. I never have had a bad day at rancho regal.
The sound system is incredible and they have really big theaters. Theater 15 and Theater 1 are the biggest. Theater 1 has the Dolby Surround Sound system, which sounds so amazing it's even better than IMAX. The popcorn is amazing and i've never had a burned batch.
The seats are very comfortable and accommodate everyone. The armrests lift up, making more space for your seat. The seats are fabric as opposed to faux leather at parkway plaza regal stadium 18 and IMAX.
Finally, Regal Edwards Rancho San Diego has a lot of limited releases like 30th and 40th anniversary movies that aren't playing anywhere else. I saw The Thing (1982) 40th Anniversary recently. They were experiencing some technical difficulties which resulted in me waiting about an hour, however, because of this, the manager gave everyone a free movie ticket voucher just for the inconvenience.
I love this theater, and when you are trying to decide which theater to go to, I strongly encourage giving Rancho Edwards Regal a chance.
