La Flor Pupusas Grill — Restaurant in California

(ENGLISH Y ESPANOL) Terrible service!!! This all starts when we called to place an order. We had never been here so we asked what kind of popusas they had, but the lady said she doubted we'd come pick up the food because we were not regulars. So to make her feel better we drove 15 min and ordered in person. The woman in the front told us it would be 15-20 minutes. Two groups of people walked in after us and got their food before us!!! It took 40 minutes to get 5 popusas. She had the nerve to say "it's better to place an order over the phone because it's faster." Why TF did you discourage us from doing so then?!?!?! I asked the second group of people if they had called in the order (got there 10-15 min after us) and they said no, they ordered here. We will never be returning. There are other places in town with great popusas. Servicio Terrible!!! Todo empezo cuando queriamos poner una orden para llevar. Como no hemos ido antes, hablamos por telefono preguntando por el menu de popusas. La senora dijo que como no somos regulares, tiene duda que vamos a recojer la orden. Para hacerla sentir mejor, manejamos 15 minutos para ordenar en persona. La senora nos dijo que duraria 15-20 minutos. Dos grupos de personas entraron despues de nosotros y recibieron su comida antes!!! Duro 40 minutos para que nos dieran 5 popusas. My family has been looking for a new pupuseria for a while now since our favorite one in San Francisco closed. We have been trying new restaurants for a year and we finally found it!

The service was great, the food was delicious! I've seen previous post about the price but paying $3.25 for a Pupusa that is huge and full of chicharon and cheese is worth it. The horchata is superb. The empanadas were out of this world! Both beans and leche poliada. The curtido was perfect!

The restaurant itself is small and it probably is best if you go in after lunch and prior to the diner hour as the few tables they have fill up quickly.

To chime in on the wait time comment below, it took us 20 minutes to get our 15 Pupusas and 2 orders of empanadas. Pupusas are thicker then just your plain paper thin tortillas and they will take longer to cook but totally worth the wait.

I just picked up some food from this location, I used to go the the location off Northgate but I noticed the quality of the food changed after the older lady retired. She was the sweetest and kindest lady and the food was amazing. Well I decided since I was near this location I’d try it out. The lady who helped me was extremely rude! I asked for an extra salsa she wanted to charge me even though I just bought food. Ok that was fine but as I was about to purchase it she turned and walked away. Didn’t say a word just walked away and had attitude when she talked to me. And the food still isn’t as good as when the older lady was working. Will not be returning based on customer service alone.
