Cathay Express — Restaurant in Sacramento

I’ve been regularly eating at this place for over a year. The food is ok HOWEVER I sent a coworker to pick up our plates and I noticed I was charged $8 for adding green onions to my rice. When I respectfully brought this to their attention, the lady attempted to engage in a shouting match over her mistake. Ever since they are very rude to me and my coworker, they rush us, they stopped answering my calls I guess refusing service when they are the ones who made the mistake. Their attitudes are very nasty and they can be confrontational over small things especially the lady and older man. Just rude. Yes the food is DECENT and that’s only when you catch them on a good day but when the ppl serving have uncalled for bad attitudes that alone just makes everything disgusting. Especially after me and my Kaiser coworkers have spent a lot of money there. I will not return to Cathays, Lucky Wok on watt has better food anyway and their service is professional. Please don’t bring to cathay express attention that you want sweet sour sauce or an extra fork, they might be rude to you and stop answering your calls smh oh and you might be charged 10$ or better for adding green onions lol these ppl are rude af do...

Little gem tucked between Auto Parts store and Radial Tire hath restored my faith in Chinese takeout after years of disappointment across the greater Sacramento area watching the go to spots of old close or change hands convincing newer generations that bamboo eating bears somehow serve up decent authentic Chinese Food. Thank you sister for the recommendation thank you Cathay for not disappointing. Ordered Mongolian beef combo , crab cheese wonton for good measure. Large portions, fresh ingredients, veggies w snap, tender meats, not super greasy, not oily,proper seasoning, deliciously sauced , just damn good tasty Chinese food easy on the wallet and tummy. We usually get delivery to our office. The only time our order was incorrect they made it right by bringing it out when their driver could swing by again. They're usually very fast with their delivery as well.

The chicken in the Chow Mein, and possibly a few other dishes, is a little weird. Most of the other things we've tried are good (Sweet and Sour Pork, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, egg flower soup, Mongolian beef, and a few others). This is one of the only places that delivers Chinese food around Arden. Most places have a 2-3 mile radius. I'd give it a 4-4.5 rating as a standalone, and a 3.5 - 4 versus other options that are too far away for delivery...
