Mariscos el bigoton — Restaurant in California

Dunno why their stars are so low. The food is amazing. Momma got a Mojarra and she freakin loved it, our cat did too. lol My mom is a very picky lady, so getting a thumbs up from her is very rare. I got "two" tostadas, one mixta and one jaiva. I quote two because, they are VERY generous with their portions. Two medium sized see-through containers FILLED with your order and they give you way over two tostadas to eat your generous portions of food.

I already dug into my meal so I can't post pics. Completely forgot to do so. But when I returne, and I will, I will sample another of their dishes and update this review.

BY THE WAY, they serve micheladas and beer, so come by and eat. They upgraded their establishment. It has outdoor dining with lovely greenery to create a breeze for those hot summers to come and it has plenty of shade.

The staff is friendly, helped me out as a first timer there. Also, ask for the mojarra, cus its not on the menu.

Been coming here for a while after trying their lonchera on whittier. I'm inclined to think their kitchen staff has changed. The tostadas went from silao , the best tostadas for mariscos in my opinion to the worst tostadas I've had ( ill even take Guerrero over these). The mariscos have lost that rich good flavor they used to have and now it all taste the same. They used to serve name brand mayo packets (bomb!) To whatever runny mayo concoction I was served today. After my last visit i decided to give them another chance hoping they were off on their game just that once, ran out of tostadas and mayo...

Taco Tuesday is absolutely the best deal. Any other day, this same plate sells for 2X as much. Plus, the shrimp tacos, salsa, and avocados infuse together so well. It's not hot. It's flavorful and delicious. Yes, they do have hot chili salsa. But I choose to taste my food. Savor the deep fried shrimp tacos with the avocado slices layered on top. Plus, the salsa with tomatoes, onions, and cilantro imitation crab meat is so delicious together.

However, words can not capture this wonderful taste. The emponadas are wonderful as well. Their hibiscus tea, aka Jamaica water...
