Masala Express — Restaurant in California

Masala Express is hands down one of the best hidden gems in Sonoma County! I tried the Butter Chicken Sandwich, and wow – it blew me away. The flavors are absolutely incredible; the creamy, rich butter chicken combined with the perfectly toasted bun is a match made in heaven. I’ve tried butter chicken at many places, but this is by far the best I’ve had in the area.

The restaurant has a laid-back vibe – nothing too fancy, but that’s part of the charm. The focus is clearly on the food, which is exactly where it should be. It’s clear that the owners and staff put a lot of heart into every dish they make.

Honestly, I feel like people who don’t appreciate this place either don’t have a palate for authentic flavors or are just upset about something unrelated. The food is top-tier, and Masala Express deserves way more credit. If you’re a true foodie looking for amazing Indian fusion in a relaxed setting, this place is a must-visit.

We were driving to Fort Bragg and stopped by. This place serves great food, and every thing tasted so fresh, and tasty. We had the masala wrap, saag paneer, chicken curry, naan, and paneer pakora. The masala wrap was by far the best because the bread was garlic naan, which was amazing, and the stuffing was butter chicken and fries. The saag paneer was decent, but the chicken curry was so good, and set our mouths on fire. At this place, do not ask to make the curries spicy, because when they say spicy, they mean spicy. What a hidden gem! Finally, an actual Indian (and north Indian) restaurant with authentic flavors and actual spice levels! We loved pretty much everything we tried - the pakora and samosa apps, veggie thali that had delicious chana masala, saag paneer and dal, entrees like eggplant. Their Masala Pizza (they have both vegetarian and meat options) was quite flavorful. And of course, their naans and kulchas from their tandoor were perfect.
