This place scores big for local flavor and historic ambiance. The food is mediocre at best, but if you're coming for some drinks and a good time with music and friends you'll be just fine here. Cash & credit cards accepted.
Large venue for music & dancing. Indoor and outdoor seating. Traditional bar seating inside, but the stage/dance floor area "downstairs" has more indoor tables for seating. Menu tries to position itself above bar food fare and succeeds in options if not in quality.
The brussel sprouts & bacon are quite good, though - recommend those. The nachos are quite bad - cheese sauce and other mystery liquids. Tri-tip sandwich is light on the tri-tip and has no other redeeming qualities unless you include the slightly damp bun. French fries are respectable though - crispy and well-salted.
Full bar and weekly specials. Spicy margarita is basic and not terribly spicy. Sazerac is all right but nothing memorable - but bonus points for offering it!
Again, don't come here for the food. Come for music, dancing, mixing and mingling with the locals and all that jazz. Maybe...
Read moreMaverick Saloon is one of my favorite "Go-to" weekend dance places. They have live music until around 12am, and then somewhat post millenia DJ music. There are two bars available, and a nice sized and well-kept dance floor. The bartenders are phenomenal, and the service is quick. The manager keeps everything running smoothly and safely: that's important to me. A little realized fact is that The Maverick has an amazing dining menu, and superb chefs willing to make their food 'your way'. The smoked chicken salad with homemade ranch is my favorite so far❣️ however the grilled chicken sandwich is stellar. The music can be many genres, so check ahead for band names. There is a door charge as well. Beware of only two bathroom stalls. There seems to always be a waiting line. The manager has said to stay tuned for an appeasement on the loo issue. 😉. I have heard that there are regular dance classes held at the Maverick. You can tell by the excellent dancing-very fun to watch. I hope to attend one soon. Also, gluten free food may be a new addition. Yay!

Read moreOn a scenic drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles, a serendipitous need for a restroom led us to the charming Maverick Saloon. Bathed in the warm hues of the golden hour, the saloon beckoned us to venture beyond a mere pit stop. Covered ceiling to walls with autographed one and five-dollar bills, each bearing the personal marks of passersby and locals, it exuded a sense of community and rustic charm. Quinton, one of the friendly staff members, graciously shared the adjacent ranch-style room, once a haven for riders who would trot in for a refreshing beer. The breathtaking views of sprawling cattle and picturesque prairies added to the allure. As we engaged with fellow patrons, laughter and camaraderie filled the air, leaving an imprint on our hearts and a longing to return to this...
