We had a great time at artiste—so much so that we became wine club members. Ashley and her partner are very knowledgeable about wines and walked us through a delicious tasting. There isn’t any food there but they are right next to a little market that has charcuterie and cheeses. Ashley let us bring in our food and make our own pairing plate. Additionally, Ashley brought out a beautiful blue cheese that she had and presented it—educating us about how to taste wine with food. She was warm and kind. We had a really great time, with well over 6 pours to the tasting. She even left a half bottle at the table and let us finish it. Read moreSo far the best tasting room that I've experienced in Los Olivos. Artiste really feels like the underdog here. I know that wines are pretty subjective, overall, they have the best tasting flights.
In addition, Ashley really elevaed the wine by showing us what kind of cheese is a great pairing with the wines that we tasted. I wish a lot of tasting rooms do this. Rarely do you get to experience hands-on what kind of food are great pairings with the wine.
