Yet another of the big chain store locations that feel they can scam customers out of their money without providing anything in return.
Since McDonalds updated their app so your purchase is debited from your bank BEFORE goods are provided, it becomes a huge hassle to get a refund of funds (or reward points) when the store decides to play "fast and loose" with their business hours.
This particular store, I pulled up to the drive through speaker, all of the store lighting on and appearing to be open. An employee stepped out the side door, and quickly turned around and closed the door behind himself. I soon found out why. No response at the speaker and nobody to be seen at the window.
I'll just start filing credit card disputes for every time this happens, and see how they enjoy the chargeback fees. I suggest you do the same until McDonalds (and other chains with the same policy) add an easy option within the app to challenge an order and receive a refund of funds or points.
It was much better before, because you applied your payment info to the order but it wasn't actually charged until you spoke with a drive thru attendant. It's quite obvious why McDonalds opted to change it-- in hopes that any undelivered order will be forgotten by the customer so they can have some additional profits. No other technical reason.
For the stores that knowingly modify their hours hoping to profit from orders during the times they should be there-- including this store-- shame on you. Learn to respect your customers' driving time...

So we were told that we needed to go around and order the additional pie at the spraker. Once we got to the spraker we are told that they cant sell us another pie, so we ask if we could speak to a manager to see why we coulnt order another pie and she comes out and says that she isbthe manager. that its due to the time that it is which is 10:09 pm which they close at 11. So now we ask again if we could talk to a manager and she says that she is the manager and but this time we ask why did she send us to the speaker knowing that we couldnt get another pie so this time she did started arguing and saying how many apple pies did we want so we ask for one then the ppl on the back say that they cant do it no more due to time, but now they are contracdicting each other, and now we ask for her name and she says that she doesnt have to provide us with her name, we told her that we wanted to know her name so we could talk in the morning with the store manager and try to explain what was happening and now she got to a point to we feel like she wants to kind of fight. And we just ask for her name and she just didnt wanted to help and at the end she made it seem like she was doing us a favor. We wanted a pie which we were gona paid for not asking for free so she aint...
Read moreI rarely post negative experiences on this forum (ok, I'm lying - if the food or service is bad, chances are, I'm going to say something). My rant today is not about the staff at the Bonsall McD's - but on the customer service end. Had an issue with their app and an order, staff couldn't fix it. Sent me to cx svc. I only asked for a refund I paid 2x for. You'd think I was asking for 20 soft serves after 9pm! The 5 emails between us - me explaining what happened again and again and McDonalds interrogating me as if I were the Hamburgler!! All of this because I was charged twice for the only thing I can stomach at their establishment (besides the French fries of course!) which was ONE CARMEL FRAPPE WITH EXTRA DRIZZLE. All I can say is, ifJoan Croc, may she rest in Peace, still owned McDonalds I wouldn't be writing this. Sad face emoji
Post script..
Took my Granddaughter to McDonalds in Vista the other day and they forgot to put the burger on a hamburger. Do better! One last thought: Who ever came up with that creepy Ronald McDonald...
