Argh. Okay, so this place put the "grrrr" in Groupon for me. Had a situation that was not exactly anyone's fault per se, but lemme 'splain. So I purchased a Groupon titled: 3 Sandwiches for $11. I came with my fam bam thinking we would get three sandwiches - one for each of us. WRONG! In the fine print it stated that: only one sandwich per visit. WTF? So no, I did not read the fine print. But to me that is like giving out a coupon that is "buy one, get one free" except you have to come in on a separate occasion to get your freebie. INCONVENIENT.
I explained this to the owner. He said that it is written on the Groupon, and sure enough, it was. He offered to do two sandwiches for free and I could get another sandwich down the road. Fine.
I try not to let this cloud my review. But it did put a damper on the customer service situation.
As for the Mr. Pickles itself, it is nicely done with a large flat screen TV. They even have froyo at $.35 an ounce with various toppings. There are only two flavors. I was still fuming after the whole Groupon thing, that I didn't care to see what the flavors were.
The sandwiches were awesome. Wow. We got them for a road trip and although one Yelper said he didn't appreciate the styrofoam container, for me it came in handy. Can you imagine eating one of those sandwiches on the road and having stuff fall on your lap?
I had the L'Michelle - what a beaut. Dutch crunch roll with chicken and this wonderful sauce. Husband had one with either pastrami or ham, but came with BBQ sauce. Again, heaven.
So if it hadn't been for the Groupon experience, it would have been five stars for sure. Yes I'll be back. I want my...
Read moreToday I craved a good burger. So I went toe Mr. PICKLES on fair oaks blvd. I am 8 months pregnant. I ordered my food and I needed to use the restroom... I asked the nice young lady where's the restroom. She said "we don't give our key to customers." Now, this is a eat in restaurant, so for them to not offer a restroom is absurd. I said well I have to go. So give me the key. She asked someone behind the counter and the young lady said. Oh, no sorry. Okay. I'm sitting here thinking to myself this is Bull! Im Clearly upset. She continued to take orders. I walk back up to the counter and tell her... I will piss on this floor. At this point I'm pissed. She finally gives me the key. I go to the restroom , outside ... and return the key. A second later someone else asks for the key. A white man. She gives him the key without the little speech. Now I'm very pissed! Mr. PICKLES just...
Read moreI've had meals at a number of Mr. Pickles sandwich restaurants in and around California. Specifically Morgan Hill and San Jose areas. This is the first Mr Pickle's that served beer and wine as well as hamburgers, fries and other items other than standard sandwiches. I ordered a gyro and crinkley fries. I've always liked the crinkley fries of fosters freeze. You don't find them often anymore. The gyro was on pita bread, not over saturated with Greek, sprouts cucumbers, tomatoes and I asked for onions also. I added salt and pepper to my liking. The meat was tender and delicious tasting and not dry. I recommend this is Mr. Pickles sandwich shop if you are in the Fair Oaks/Carmichael area of Sacramento county. My only complaint was service was slow as I was the only customer there at the time, but maybe because everything...
