My Garden Café — Restaurant in California

Staying at the attached hotel over this weekend, I decided that for today I’d do breakfast and lunch at this My Garden Café. I walked in just before 8am and was met by the smell of fresh coffee, maple syrup and pancakes. Johnny warmly greeted me and said I could sit wherever I’d like. I ordered coffee and the French toast supreme. The coffee was substantive and not watered down. Bacon was thick cut and cooked to crispness but not over. Eggs scrambled and not overcooked. Adding to this, the overall ambiance is just welcoming and hospitable, no overwhelming corporate veneer/signage, you feel like the diner is run by human beings that want you to feel comfortable while you’re there.

For lunch, I ordered fish and chips, 3 big fish tenders and a bed of fries. With all the fixings, lemon, malt vinegar, tartar sauce. Portion was enough to split with another person, easy. 10/10 would order again.

If you happen to be in the area or staying at the hotel next to it like me, you gotta give this...

We have been there several times and this time im sorry it was horrible not the food it was on spot the service was unacceptable the cell phone usage behind the counter is just not right the staff standing at the counter eating not a good look as we waited to get our order taken the young girl made a phone order for food for herself unacceptabl we waited for our waitress who never returned with our check she was no were to be found 2 other waitresses looked for her and finally she came back no one new where the check was at it was very dishearting because we like it there and the events that took place are really disturbing no one came to see if we needed anything else just ignored us like i said the food was amazing n so good but good food needs to be followed by staff that is attentive to make sure our experience is 100% great "leadership...

I m up and down the state of California as my job has me all over the place, I was in town of Sonora, came across this small mom and pop joint, just like the beginning. As I walked in, I was greeted/acknowledged immediately by the host and waitress and seated. The service was great, prices not bad at all. What I loved was the great attitude and how they followed up with you refilled my coffee and asked if anything else. They were on it. That positive attitude just love it. Great place for breakfast. Trust me I visit many restaurants since I’m always on the road and this is I e of them gems. Not sure on lunch but next time in town definitely swing...
