New China Restaurant — Restaurant in California

I looked at their menu online and saw something I never had seen before-Honey Walnut Chicken...and it was listed under their "Specials" menu. I phoned in an order to pick up which also included Almond Chicken Chow Mein and a hot pork dish. As I was paying I noticed the amount for the "special" was higher than listed on their webpage. I asked the owner about it and he said they don't have that special and said I may not have been looking under the Manteca location. I paid, put the food in my car and came back in with my phone and showed him his webpage. After staring blankly at it for 3 minutes he said they don't have that special and went on about how other items listed haven't been served in years. I told him that was false advertising and he should honor what he has listed in writing (as that is what got me to order from the place). I told him I would not return and I guess he's a funny guy because he instantly mumbled some words in Chinese and his employees standing nearby got a great chuckle out of it. If you can't handle a small problem there is no was you can handle a big one.The food was not very good either. More than one black hair in my food (I don't have black hair), one dish was cold, one was flavorless and the other had way too much batter. Some of the chicken was hard, tough, and very chewy. Food is great but unfortunately the service was shot today. I made an order to go but by the time I got there to pick up my order I still had 30 min before I had to pick up my son from class so I asked if I could sit down and eat one of my sushi rolls since I had some time to kill and the lady gave me a horrible look and said yes but then when I went and sat down another lady asked if I was taking it to go or dine in so I explained that I wasn’t going to dine in but have some time to kill so now at this point a man is also involved (2 woman and 1 man) telling me if I order to go than it needs to be to go because they charge more to dine in. (Something I was never aware of) they said that this time I can stay but honestly I felt so uncomfortable at that point that I just left! Btw I eat at this place all the time and sit in the same spot every time I do. I was very disappointed at how they treated me. I was not asking for service, just a place to sit while I wait for my son to get out of class. I even tipped although I didn’t get the service of a dine in! Not sure I’ll...

I had a much larger star review, but this is now the third time, I have coughed up plastic, and choked on plastic from their soups.

Once was eating it from when my mother dropped some off... I assumed it was a fluke.

Once while eating there, I again assumed/like an idiot, that this must just be some weird coincidence.

But, we ordered soup again today, and I coughed up plastic, it cut my throat, and I'm over it. I can't even believe I allowed this to happen this many times. Definitely stupid on my part.

I have photos of the plastic. It is thick, sharp, and no idea how much I actually swallowed. This is unacceptable, and not okay. This used to be my favourite place, but I can't ever eat here again.

Check your soup. Mainly the won ton types.
