Called in and ordered food to go, figured while We waited for that food to be made, we would show up early and just get a couple of drinks made to add to the order while we waited.
When we arrived, we asked the first hostess if we could see a drink menu so we can order some drinks to go in addition to our order we already placed Over the phone. She seemed stressed and said she’ll be right back. We waited for few minutes and then a different girl came & asked for our name for the food so she can go check on it. Shortly after she brings it back and tells us the total. so we paid.
We stood there for another few minutes waiting for Hostess #1 to come back with the drink menu we asked for , Instead we ended up seeing her wiping down menus as if she forgot to bring us back a drink menu. So we asked again if we can order drinks to go, she said she had to go get her manager. Few minutes later, he came out and told us we couldn’t order any drinks Togo unless we ordered food to go.....as if we didn’t just pay nearly $70 in food Togo literally minutes ago.
We explained to him that we JUST paid for food to go, and that we tried to add the drinks to our order before paying, and that’s why we were waiting for a drink menu That hostess #1 never even came back with, or even acknowledged she forgot about us or even apologized... as if we wanted to stand there at the host table for about 10 mins holding up the line.....
Instead If apologizing, or even acting as if there was a mistake or miscommunication on THEIR end, he gave US attitude then he blamed the hostess for being new and not knowing “Anything” which wasn’t the issue at all.... So he continued to tell us if we wanted To Go drinks we had to order ANOTHER item of food for that to work, because “that’s the rules”
like common guys, you guys SEE our bags of food right there literally within MINUTES Of being paid for and I can’t even order a drink to go unless we order MORE food? That’s ridiculous and it wasn’t even our mistake. We got forgotten about and then told we can’t get what we want. This place lost my business and I will for sure be spreading this experience around to people I know because that really sucked.
And the fact that the manager came out and treated us as if it was our mistake and our issue for not knowing the rules... like for sure don’t feel comfortable coming back to a place that makes their long time customers feel bad about things they tried to do right from the Beginning but the staff couldn’t seem to know the proper information when asked by guests from the...
Read moreI went to this restaurant to see a cherished coworker off, it was an impromptu affair. Well, this place isnt terrible. First of all, their margaritas and cocktails could be better. I had a pineapple express, it tasted like a multi-surface cleaner, but it acted quickly so there's that. There were large chunks of pineapple and only a few slivers of jalepeño, the flavors were not balanced well, which is a shame. Our first round of drinks got confused some of us received our drinks as ordered, but some of us got someone elses drink. This only happened to a few people out of our large group though. The customer service was great, the staff was patient and they quickly corrected mistakes and were proactive. With regards to the food, I didnt hear any complaints from the group, but personally I wasnt a fan. The taste was lacking and it kind of seemed like they compensated for this with large portions. I ordered nachos, there was melted cheese pooling at the bottom of the plate, but I wasnt happy about it. I didnt see anyone at the table clear their plate, perhaps thats because we were full of alcohol (the tequila gets high marks) or perhaps because the taste was underwhelming. Overall, i'd say it was an average experience, neither appaling, nor excellent. Perhaps they just had a bad night, who knows? As for atmosphere, the restaurant is nice and clean, and its somewhat charming, especially the entry way, but the decoration quickly fades away the further you go into the restaurant. We also sat in relative darkness for awhile before it occurred to us and the staff that the lights should be on. I dont mind that to extent, though. Overall, this is an alright place, worth a try, you might have different...
Read more(as I sinfully rub my hands and grin) lol. Seriously though. This place is hands down one of the greatest Mexican style restaurants I've come across in Manteca. Wifey was the one suggested it to me as she'd been before. So I finally decided to check out her hype on it. Boooyy oh boy when I say the food was fighting worthy. I mean it. Lol ambiance was dope and homey feeling. Nice warm colors and historic Mexican villa vibes. Wait staff was very nice and on the ball with orders and off menu accommodations and recommendations. Food was delivered piping hot but not to hot as to burn us. I ordered a Pastor Tamale , Cammarones Chimichanga, & pastor enchilada. Covered in both chilie verde and traditional red sauce. With crema across the middle. (Very picturesque). Everything came with rice and beans which I ended up filling up on. Smh "what a rookie move" but hey... The meals for myself, my 2 kids and Wifey came out to under $80. OMFG!! I couldn't believe we got all we did for under $100. Say less we're definitely coming back. I have some good eats a few hours later when we made it home too. just on Sunday be sure to get there early as the wait gets a bit crazy. Which for sure is understandable after tasting the food. I highly recommend them as a MUST stop and try if you're ever in the 209 anywhere. It'll be...
