Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in California

I had never gone before, but decided to give it a shot. I was highly disappointed. The staff, although nice enough, looked absolutely miserable, and the other customers were obnoxious (kids running around their ignoring parents, patrons huffing about the food "not being spicy enough, etc.). So already I was uncomfortable here.

The food was awful, with a gluey-cement textured biscuit, sub-par popcorn shrimp (I've microwaved better shrimp), and fish fillets with the gritty texture and flat taste of a bunch of gutted fish sticks mushed together and deep fried. It tasted awful and made me sick for at least two days after (probably all the salt. If I'm going to eat that much salt, I want to enjoy myself).

Do yourself a favor and get shrimp and fish fillets from the supermarket in the same parking lot. It'll be cheaper and taste a lot better. The only reason they get 2 stars instead of 1 is because the rude customers around me weren't really their fault. Still, it shows you what kind of people are attracted to this kind of food...

Edit: A few years later, I tried them again (my husband wanted to go). Their chicken is a little dry, but a little turkey gravy (bought at a different store) can fix that. Their biscuits were a little better. Buttery and flavorful, but a little too salty to call them perfect. Canned biscuits with butter taste better. Still, this was better than the last time, so I'll give them another star for slight...

Tonight on my way home to Stockton through Manteca I stopped at the Popeyes located on Yosemite. So there were three employees two females one male and when I say the service was absolutely horrible. I tried to order my mail through the drive-thru and I sat there with no response I got to the window after waiting patiently for the server to get off of her phone texting and was told that I have to order at the window and to drive around again which put me behind two cars. I ordered a three piece all white meat, and then to confirm the order I was asked did I want a three-piece all black oh I'm sorry I mean dark meat. Joke was not funny not in the least bit. If this Crew still works there I would definitely not be recommending this location to any of my friends or family. Rude and disrespectful was the least of my concerns more so hoping that my food was prepared correctly after getting it and bringing it home I could not bring myself to eat it because if asking me if I want black meat versus dark meat when I asked for all white meat it's something that's funny to them playing with my food would be just another punch line to...

The crapiest customer service ever. If they care about their franchise name, they wouldn’t hire people who have attitudes when you ask them to repeat the order just to ensure they have it correct in the system. Never will I allow a child like the one on drive through on the early evening of 12/31/21 to talk to me like she’s owed something. Her attitude almost got her pulled through the drive through window. I asked her to repeat my order she specifically said, “I told you that already.” Then when I told her that I realize that she had but I could not understand her, she got an attitude. So I drove off once I got upstairs to the window and showed her my military ID and she continued with having an attitude. I don’t own stock in the corporate entity of this restaurant and I am on the Board of Directors, so she miserably failed the test. Because I did not want to embarrass her in front of her coworkers, I did not ask for her name. But she needs to be terminated and I will ensure that...
