R Bar — Restaurant in California

We have been to Rbar three times now the first two experiences were great. Service was excellent and the food was good. I had the sirloin, not tender at all and yes sometimes sirloins can be that way. My two partners had the filets and raved. We all had a smoked cocktail however when served they used a drink coaster to retain smoke which is very odd as it’s on the rim of the glass you are going to drink from (not sanitary). Third visit a different bartender and we arrived around 8, she did not greet us or even acknowledge however took time to look at her phone twice. A server finally came and took drink orders, 15 min later our smoked coctails arrived w the same used coasters on top. He then retuned 5 min later and said they had issues w the smoker and wanted to add smoke again which was fine. They changed menu and took the filets off and left the sirloin. My partner ordered it and stated good flavor but very tough to chew. Other person ordered salmon and stated it was overcooked, forgot to put the glaze on it and potatoes were bland. Let me tell you, my recent experience at the "R Bar" was an absolute delight! From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My wife and have been here a few times. First time was going to get dinner and we ended up getting fries that were amazing. So we didnt get the rib eye that we wanted. This is not a bad thing. The truffles fries are off the chain. 2nd time we went for drinks. Third time went in just for rib eye, we settle for rib eye steak bites. Steak bites are good but needed some more flavor. I will definitely be back to get the full plate. Also they have a fillet that I really want to try. Fillet is my favorite cut and I will be reviewing that soon. People are great and staff is so good.
