Sadly, I really have to say I was very disappointed. The first couple times we came here, we came with our parents who were visiting. They really liked it. We enjoyed it as well. The last time I came in, last night, I really feel strongly that the quality has gone down from our initial experiences.
When you pay $75 for a meal, and you really feel like you could have gotten an equally good meal out of a box from Costco for a tenth of the price. That is a problem. Especially when you style yourself as a gourmet family restaurant. I felt like the options were really limited as well. Not very many gourmet ones. The same stuff you expected most pizza parlors. The thing that surprised me the most was that you couldn't order any of the pizzas without sauce or change the sauce there wasn't even in another option for any other kind of sauce. Even though they do offer a pesto which is a good pesto, you're not allowed to use it as a sauce on any of the other pizzas. The service was great as usual, and atmosphere, very small town pizza parlor. What you would expect.
I just really didn't feel like the bill matched the experience that I had. My family agrees with me, and unfortunately for us we probably won't be back again. Honestly, I think we've missed out several opportunities coming here... just because it's it's very difficult to always remember to get cash before coming. It's a cash-only establishment. While I understand that reduces your overhead slightly, it's a really big deterrent for most modern patrons. Most people don't have cash or carry cash. Just giving honest feedback. Good luck in all...
Read moreI must say that I was impressed by Redwood Pizza. When I visited Felton, California this past summer, I wasn't really sure where to have dinner. This place seemed like the best choice even though it appeared to be a vegan pizza type place which is not my type of thing. It turns out though, that in fact is just regular pizza, not all gluten and dairy/meat free. We started off with the garlic bread which was completely eaten in minutes. As you can tell it was definitely good. For my pizza, I got whatever the size was of a personal pizza half cheese/half pepperoni. It was very good and tasted like coal fired pizza (not sure if it actually is coal fired). The staff were nice and attentive. We were there late on I believe a Wednesday night so it wasn't that crowded. Overall, I had a good dinner there, and if I was in the Felton area longer or return to that area I would definitely go for...
Read moreOne of the best pizza pies l've had in a while. While staying at a nearby RV resort and exploring the little town of Felton, I came upon the amazing smell of pizza that would not leave my mind! Several camp nights later the day before we left, I had to try it! I definitely would have regretted not ordering this pizza. I ordered the Cougar which came with pepperoni, mushrooms, olives and cheddar. It reminded me of an old school pizza I might have had as a kid...The crust was to die for and cooked to perfection, all ingredients were fresh, high quality and even the marinara tasted homemade. My husband ordered the Calzone and it was huge! Again, that crust is everything. Well worth the money! Since we took the pizza to go, I was pretty happy that I was able to take my craft beer to go also! Service was fast and friendly. This may become a regular stop whenever we're back in the area. ...
