Salsa's Taqueria - Bishop — Restaurant in California

Eat here if you like street tacos.

As someone who has been a patron of the Mammoth Lakes Salsas for the last 8 years, I didn't think it could get any better. Then I moved nearer to the Bishop Salsas, and found everything so much better.

I eat here about 4 times per week. There's some good food in Bishop,and you can spend a lot more at more happening spots, but the food here is spot on.

My girl likes the American style tacos because she's not a fan of raw onions. I love all of the street tacos, and recommend trying them all, but the Carne Asada is the go-to.The street tacos are double tortilla'd and generously topped. SALSAS STREET TACO PRO-TIP: Separate the bottom tortilla and push half of the toppings onto it, boom- 2-for-1 tacos.

The burritos are great, though they are slightly dry and that's a good thing because their salsa bar is a godsend. Try the Avocado green salsa on everything. The portion is about the size of a mid-range Chipotle burrito. Though I do love a good carnitas burrito, the California Burrito is top notch, don't forget to ask for your favorite salsa inside if you're planning on eating while steering a vehicle.

Secretly, they have Sopas every day. Do it, try it. It's like a super puffy fried tortilla with street taco toppings above, glory to the fried taco gods.

The home made chips are great, they're like a better version of the store-made chips at Vons. The chips are lightly salted, so if you're eating with an old man, you may want to salt them up.

What happened to this place? It was one of the best in Bishop when they first opened, now the food quality and the customer service is some of the worst in town! Ordered a bean, rice and cheese burrito and the tortilla was so stale and hard, I couldn’t bite into it and all of what was inside fell out and onto my lap. Taquitos that used to be tasty are now dry and bland. Can’t ask a question and get a straight answer anymore - I asked if the quesadilla came with guacamole, was told it was, came out with no guac, asked if I could have the guac, was told it came with the taquitos not the quesadilla even though she just told me it came with the quesadilla, and then I needed to pay $4 for a dipping sauce cup size of guac…. Get it together guys! Your prices are too high to be serving...

Buenísimos los tacos de birria, the birria tacos are bomb and can make 2 tacos out of 1 which is great considering the price p taco. The birria consome is good too but could be less oily on top. Lady was cleaning tables which was nice to see some toma es don’t wipe down tables after each costumers, and establishment was clean in general as well as the bathroom which is a good sign cause the kitchen is probably clean too! Great salsas selection, defined recommend. I drove from mammoth to eat and buy other necessities. Worth the drive. I definitely reckoned and will definitely come back.
