Stopped by to grab a meal on my lunch break in the late afternoon and was immediately greeted by Smitty and Donna upon entering. Because I chose to dine in, they took my order at a table instead of the counter and also brought my drink and meal over to me directly. Both folks were very friendly and made conversation with me before, during, and after my meal. I was the only customer at the time, so it was a very short wait for my order, but they did not compromise on the freshness whatsoever.
I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with sides of mac and cheese and bacon green beans. They got to my table at the perfect temperature for me to dig in immediately. If youâre someone who likes their food on the saltier side, youâll want to make use of the salt shaker at the table, and I appreciated that I had some control over that aspect. Also added an apple pie to go when I was paying for my food afterward and am happy to report it heated up nicely at home.
Overall very pleased with the meal. An alternative to fast food when you want something quick but donât want the sluggish feeling you can get after eating something from a major chain. Will have to come back to try their bacon burger special...
Read moreMy husband and I were making a stop at the local pharmacy in the same area of the Bbq place and I had to make an emergency stop for my daughter that desperately needed a new bottle and I had no water. So I went into Smitty's and went directly towards the bathroom when i was RUDELY interrupted by an Older woman employee with blonde/white hair and she kept the bathroom door open and told me I didn't belong in there because I wasn't a customer. It was rude, I didn't try and use their machine I used the bathroom sink water, and she made me feel completely uncomfortable, not only did she hold the door open while I was in the bathroom she escorted me out the place as if I was doing something wrong. My husband went back inside and asked why she was so rude and she straight denied it and refused to give her name. No wonder why there was no customers inside because of the terrible customer service. Will not be going back there for anything, not even to use...
Read moreI recently found out I have celiac disease and can no longer have gluten. It was refreshing to go to a restaurant where I did not have to worry about what how the food was prepared. The owners even gave us an appetizer plate to try. Who knew I would be able to eat fried mozerlla sticks, onion rings, and fried okra again? I love a good brisket and ordered that for dinner. Having lived in Texas, I can say their brisket is delicious. I was excited to be able to try their berry pie for dessert. It did not disappoint, and it was also delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves a good bbq (or even just good home cooking) and especially for those who must eat...
