I really like this restaurant. After reading the reviews and trying it for myself, the pictures don’t do the restaurant justice in terms of atmosphere. It’s perfect for a date, regular visit, and family. There’s not much in the restaurant, but there doesn’t need to be. They have a couple of TV’s, and it the perfect volume where you can hear the TV, the restaurant music, and still have a conversation. It’s very chill and relaxing. It’s just like restaurants at home, as another customer mentioned.
I really want to give the food 5 stars because it’s so, so good! But the pozole, which I will still continue to eat, just needs some seasoning. Some salt will do, but I can add that in at the table. That’s my only complaint. Everything else is perfect.
There is free parking, and they take cash and card. They have tap-to-pay function too. They even have champurrado during the cold season. It made me so happy to finally find a restaurant with dedicated champurrado seasons that take card. I don’t like to carry cash.
Thanks Mi Familia for the wonderful time!! Your staff is very kind and great people!!
Below is my description of the pozole:
It comes in a big container, but I put mine in a bowl at home because I didn’t want to eat it all at once. It comes with broth, pork, hominy, regular onion & stuff on the side (limes, cabbage, radish, chips, salsa, and tostada). It’s a mild spice. I added the cilantro and the green onion from home. The pork is cooked well (fall-off-the-bone type of texture), but it’s not seasoned. So I’d give the pozole a 3.5/5 because seasoning is everything to me. The burritos are fire 🔥 and affordable! I got a super burrito, which is only $1 more than your choice of meat regular burrito.

Read moreHome style food with all the homemade quality and flavors make this a top Mexican food spot worth trying. ••••• Impressive: handmade tortillas, homemade salsa, homemade French fries, excellent seasoning and flavor, quality ingredients, reasonably priced. ••••• They opened about 3 months ago according to staff, and it is in a blink and you miss it location tucked between businesses. They do have bright colors adorning the façade to catch your eye. What's most impressive about this restaurant is their food and service. The staff greeted us with smiles and friendly service in both English and Spanish. Their menu took up the whole wall behind the counter and was full of options (so many seafood choices too!). We came in not knowing anything about this spot so we chose basic staples to try our first: tacos al pastor, and carne asada plate. We did take out and confirmed they offer delivery too. At home we dove into our food bag to find chips and salsa included as well! While getting everything ready for lunch we snacked on the chips and found that their homemade salsa set the tone for the rest of the meal. Wonderfully seasoned, fresh red salsa that felt and tasted homemade and high quality. The main entrees did not disappoint. Handmade tortillas, homemade French fried potatoes, perfect red rice and refries beans, excellently seasoned steak, outstanding al pastor with all its garnishing! I cannot stress enough how impressive it is that their tortillas, French fries, and all of their food is homemade and handmade with the flavors and seasonings you'd expect from grandma's top recipes. This place might very well be one of the best Mexican food places around. We are looking forward to trying more soon, maybe even...
Read moreMy husband I live near this restaurant. The first time we ate at the restaurant we were in Mexican food heaven!!! We are so excited to have a wonderful go to family restaurant on our side of town. We love the food! It’s absolutely delicious and you get your moneys worths! We love that the restaurant is family owned. Mom works in the kitchen. Her son works at the register. The uncle works in the kitchen. Apparently, there aunt also works at the restaurant. This is a truly honest restaurant. Such a hard working family, running a small restaurant business. The service is great! There is plenty of Mexican food to choose on the menu. My husband I love their taco salads! We love how personable the family is with the people who come into the restaurant to eat. The family is really nice. I hope this restaurant gets more business!!! Please support them!!! Put them on the map!! If you’re ever in the area, do eat at Taqueria Mi Familia. It’s the only business in that complex that is actually good!!! I wish we could see more good businesses pop up where the restaurant is located. It’s a pretty dead area but the restaurant is the only thing that makes up for it!!! #Taqueriamifamilia #familyownedbusiness #deliciousfood...
