Good food consistent and well run, friendly staff. You can depend on the quality product. I had to remove a star after last night. While the food was almost ( see below) the same the waitress was not capable. She could only remember two of the four meals and after putting those in the system she came back to ask what the other two were. Then she came back and dropped the invoice on the the table and never asked about dessert and didn’t pickup any plates. Waited a while and caught her attention to order dessert. Still no plate removal. Then she brought dessert and still no plate removal. Finally we started stacking them on a nearby chair so we could eat dessert without getting our elbows in the plates. We had to consolidate our take home portions until we caught her to get takeout boxes. Dessert was their famed Brownie Bomb. While this has happened before is was the worst preparation ever. I don’t know if they attempt to warm the brownie in a microwave or it was made a couple months ago. But when a brownie is so hard a fork won’t penetrate it thats bad. I am a 200 pound guy and can exert a fair amount of pressure on a fork. There shouldn’t be anything served that a fork won’t penetrate. Ridiculous. I know the owner is likely between a rock and a hard place on finding decent help since our dictator governor has ruined many businesses with his over zealous behavior and extended lockdown so he could hand out million dollar contracts to his campaign paying buddies. Update on this restaurant. I went in on 6-15-2025. My 57th anniversary. It was terrible. One hour wait and everything meal was cold, I have ordered Jambalaya here before, but this time it was less than half the amount, usually served on an oval plate full. This time it was served on a small round plate and only covered half of the plate the remaining area was covered with some slices of zucchini. I don’t if this feedback means anything to the owner but hopefully to the public. I should have refused to pay. I have never had a worst experience. I challenge the owner to resolve this issue. The owner needs to respond to this feedback. This would...
Read moreMy wife thought this my be a good place for her birthday dinner, we were visiting from out of town and basically she threw a dart at Google she had a salad and that's pretty hard to mess up I on the other hand had a bowl of clam chowder, yeah in the gold country. Basically seemed like any type of can or bag institute type. The other problem is that was brought out just moments before my entree. I went with the spaghetti and meatballs, the marinara was watery and more like the juices from canned tomatoes with some Italian spices, but what's worse was the meet balls while relatively tender were cold. Like we made them ahead of time refrigerated them pull them as needed, unfortunately for me there all 3 cool in the middle. I let our waitress know and she was going to heat everything, I told her no I'd like nothing else. Instead of sending over a manger she brought the check and said no rush whe you're ready. That was the food. The server, seemed more interested in the locals and that days events, didn't get a welcomed feeling at all but the 4 tables around us, as thought she hadn't seen them in years friendly and personable. The atmosphere, a huge building reminiscent of a banquet hall. Could use a really good cleaning, sheetrock repairs and paint would help. I guess if the locals are happy with run of the mill...
Read moreWhen I first moved here I was not impressed. The place was kind of dirty, and the food I got was so so. I eventually came back because it is one of the better places to watch sports. I have since found that they have some great dishes here. Now, I really enjoy going to the peppery, and I go on a regular basis. The restaurant ownership has changed hands in the last year and they have tidied the place up a bit. The menu has been changed with some great new additions.
They have great fries as long as they are crispy enough, and I am a big fan of the fish tacos, pasta primavera, and several of the salads. I dont eat a lot of burgers, but have been with friends who have enjoyed theirs. The place where I have seen the most "misses" has been with the sandwiches/wraps and when my fries come out a little soggy so ask for them extra crispy. . Anyway, not everything on the menu is awesome, but there are a lot of great things to eat and once I figured those out I became a regular. I gave it 5 stars. 4 stars would have been to few. Really it is like a 4.5.
BTW The staff is super friendly. Definitely one of the better...
