Today (7/30/2020) Specifically asked three times for these eggs to be sunny side up. Not over medium. Guess they got lost in translation.
For the last three visits the food experience is not meeting the quality I have come to expect from There Press Cafe. Examples Eggs not delivered as ordered.
Waffles are a commercial frozen product. When bright to the table delivered with part of the waffle still cold. Plus the waffle itself is not a great quality being overly dry to the point of crunchy to the center.
Biscuits and Gravy dish both too watery and under seasoned.
Okay,, not the terrible part of the review is done I will stay say that you should give The Press Cafe a chance at your breakfast and lunch dollars. The items The Press makes in house are mostly delicious and nearly always consistently created and presented in a way that will satisfy.
Their Fresh Orange Juice is always the best you will find anywhere on the coast. Croissants, Scones, and Bagels are created daily on site some of the best I have experienced anywhere in the SF Bay area. All of the multiple types of coffees are always enjoyable.
The Press Cafe is also dog friendly and will welcome all family members to sit out on their deck with you. And for the time being their deck is open with 6 tables of various The location directly across from Pillar Point Harbor is prefect for the meal and walk combo during your morningsl or noon excursions.
Despite my two-star rating building during the last few visits I still recommend The Press Cafe as part of your El Granada, Harbor, and Half Moon Bay...
Read moreI didnt have a very good experience with this place. I only went once, and got a salad to share with my mom as well as 2 cups of soup and a side of mac n cheese for my 2 year old. The girl at the register was not very friendly. When she brought us our food the salad which was supposed to have apples, bacon and cheese had no cheese. The "tomatoe" soup was like boiled ketchup. When the girl brought us the soup we had to go and ask her for spoons. Apparently they are normally kept in a bucket on the table but our table had none and given that it was our first time there we did not know. After asking her for a spoon she says nothing and then turns around, finds a spoon on another table and just hands us one (yes, only one, even though we had two bowls) spoon and walks away. Never saying a word! The mac and chees had overboiled noodles which were mush. We also asked for cheese to put on our salad which was left out and once again the girl comes over and just sets down a huge hunk of blue cheese and doesnt say anything. Not ever going back here. I hope they give their employees a little more training in treating people kindly. Even though our whole experience was pretty bad we were never rude and didnt complain. I would also like to mention that you should never place a hot bowl in fronot...
Read moreWe dearly love this place. We moved to the area about a year ago, and the most consistent place we’ve visited is the Press, hands down! We bring every single guest we entertain here. We also eat here on WFH days and weekends with perfect regularity. My only complaint is that they close at 4, because I can’t express how often I wish I could pick up dinner from here! It’s such a cute spot, & only a short walk from the beach if you want to take your coffee to go. Speaking of the coffee, they have, not only, at least 6 different coffee options, but a full barista set up. The menu items I can vouch for most specifically are the veggie scramble (I dream of this). It comes with yummy breakfast potatoes and my favorite biscuit around! We also love the breakfast burrito, the bagel and egg sandwich, and the avocado toast. They also have great salads at lunch time, my faves are the salmon salad, tuna avocado salad, and caprese salad. Food aside, the staff is super nice. Almost every time I go, I see the same chef, and he always greets me with a smile. It’s the perfect...
