Very disappointed with the service today. I visited this café with my child and was shocked by how poorly maintained the place was — dirty floors, visible dust, and cobwebs in the corners.
We ordered some food to eat in and a cookie to go. Unfortunately, the cookie fell out of its wrapping and landed on the filthy floor. I politely asked if they could replace it, but the staff refused, which was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional.
It’s clear that customer satisfaction is not a priority here. For a business that relies on customer income, I expected better cleanliness and more understanding service. I will not be returning.
In response to the owner’s comment: I would like to clarify that my total order was over $30, not just the $5 granola bar you referenced. It’s disappointing that a business would deny a small goodwill gesture under these circumstances — especially considering the poor hygiene standards and the fact that the item fell due to faulty wrapping. I didn’t expect rigid policy enforcement over basic customer care and...
Read moreSmall but we'll rounded menu for a quick breakfast, snack or lunch. They have omelette, pancakes, salads, and sandwiches. Very nice pastry and dessert selection. A really nice selection of gelato. Both of which were a surprise. Menu is up on the wall behind the counter. You order at the counter and pay before you find a table. Prices as compared to other local places is affordable. Service was quick and friendly. Pancakes were good. They more closely resemble a crepe batter so they weren't puffy. But they were delicious. You get three pancakes with an order and a small bowl of fruit. The syrup was plentiful but they were skimpy on the butter. The bacon was perfectly cooked and you get four pieces in one side order. The orange juice was fresh pressed. The raspberry mocha was delicious. There is both an indoor and outdoor seating area. It is very conveniently right off highway 1, and has lots of parking. There is no view of the water. Now that I know about the great desserts and gelato, I will definitely...
Read moreCaffe Mezzaluna is our go-to spot for an afternoon coffee (for me) and hot tea (for my wife) whenever we’re in Half Moon Bay. This little Italian style cafe is an offshoot of the highly-regarded restaurant Mezza Luna (“Half Moon”) a few blocks away.
I love strong black coffee and theirs is always freshly brewed. The gelato is authentic and creamy and the handcrafted pastries are sinfully decadent. Service has always been quick, efficient, and friendly.
This isn’t just a place to grab a quick coffee. The extensive menu offers everything from sandwiches, panini, pizza, and salads to omelets, pancakes and crepes.
Look for the standalone building in front of the mostly deserted Harbor Village shopping center on Capistrano Rd. and Hwy 1 in Princeton-by-the-Sea. There’s plenty of parking in the adjacent lot. We can usually find seating on the patio but there are also a few well-spaced...
