Went today and ordered from their breakfast menu. A cup of clam chowder is priced at $5.95 and they billed me for $9.95. I brought it up to their attention and one server said I ordered 2 cups and at $5.95 each plus tax it would come out to $19.95, girl didn't know how to compute and didn't know how to explain it was a printing error on the breakfast menu. The manager finally owned up that the menu had the incorrect price and said they are updating the menu. They wouldn't stand by their mistake and didn't not want to give me the price of $5.95. Our bill came out to $225+ which included a Harbor Fee not sure why we are paying that and it wasn't stated anywhere we are paying a harbor fee plus tip.
We used to go to this restaurant a lot but with what they did about not honoring the price they had on the menu even if it was wrong, they could have easily updated the price on the menu by crossing it out before they gave it to the customers before customers used it to order, it is a bait and switch which is illegal and wrong. I will never support a company that does not honor their advertised price and argue with their customer that it was wrong and they are having it fixed and still not give me the measly $8 credit for the difference in price! We paid $225 and $8 wouldn't have made a difference but it is the principle that I am after and I am fighting for.
Their seat cushions outside are dirty and their indoor dining is riddled with many flies especially at the bar area going to the restrooms.
Beware of this restaurant and make sure you check your bill versus the price...

We really wanted to love it, we were fans of Ketch Joannes for many years.
While the food was not horrible, it was not memorable. We got the basics, which in my opinion should be an easy slam dunk for a restaurant that seems to get such rave reviews.
Overall, the food needed better seasoning and better attention to detail.
We got
Clam Chowder - a little on the bland side and was warm at best, should have been hotter White Pepper Fried Calamari - needed seasoning, sauces were great though! Crispy Seafood Combo - prawns and fish were very oily, fish was moist (oily?) but needed seasoning, fries were less than crispy, but my biggest complaint is the Bay Scallops (really?! tiny little scallops) and it seemed like they were cooked in the same fry basket as the rest of the seafood, they were way over done
Maybe they are putting more effort into their specials and chef favorites. But to overlook the basics, in my opinion, shows a lack of care. These ‘simpler’ dishes should be a slam dunk…
Service was great, smiles and friendly help. Always a plus!

Read moreLet me start by saying that the food was delicious. We loved our appetizer, the entrees were fantastic, and their dipping sauces were yummy. No complaints with the food but the service was terrible. The entire wait staff were constantly congregating in the kitchen. We could blatantly see them from our table just chit chatting. Our waitress rarely checked on us. We had to request for refills. We weren’t given small plates to eat our appetizer on. Also, they had terrible timing with the food. We waited at least 30 minutes for our entrees. Our waitress didn’t check on us that entire timeframe. Once we finally got our meals, we noticed that two other tables who arrived after us, received their meals before us. Also, we were all almost done eating once my mom finally got her lunch. We opted to not order dessert because everything just took too long and service just wasn’t good. One last thing, the paper towel machine wasn’t working in the men’s restroom and I enjoyed the decor inside...
