I went here for lunch with a friend from work today, Thursday March 1st, and innitially they were pretty professional, nice, we were greeted, and even told that they use an older method of baking their pizzas, which makes it take a little longer. The wait was not excessive, but when the lady brought our plates out, she gave me the plate with a flower picture, and my friend, who happens to be a Man of color, a black plate with a slice of water melon painted on it. He was less than impressed, and I assumed it to be coincidence, though in poor taste for a possible mistake. It's an old fashioned mom and pop diner, a little hole in the wall place, that we'd heard good things about, so imagine our disappointment when our pizza comes, and it's nowhere near fully cooked. Then, to top that, the anchovies tasted like canned albacore tuna, they were chopped, very tiny, and barely even noticeable on the pizza. The sausage, red onion, and pineapple had 0 flavor, and the sauce was nothing more than tomato mash, not even seasoned. We will NEVER be back. They're ONLY getting 2 stars instead of 1 because they innitially were professional. Though it didn't last long, and 27 dollars for a very tasteless pizza is not OK.
Edit: i forgot to add, the Flatware was very dirty. Like when you eat a salad, let the fork sit for 3 weeks, run it through a short dishwasher cycle, and the dried up food is still caked on it. They give you that DIRTY flatware to eat with. Trust me, y'all, you're better off going to any commercial...
Read moreSisters Wendy & Shelli (wenelli's!) pretty much rock it! Small, friendly, old school pizza parlor type joint with amazing lunch specials available until 4pm. Delivery doesn't start until 5pm but they're offering curbside pick up. Cheeseburgers are served on French rolls, like their sandwiches. The pastrami is ... Just yummy! I'm usually die-hard gotta-have-pastrami-on-rye, but I make the exception here and I'm never disappointed. The stuffed mushrooms can pretty much be customized with any two pizza toppings. A fave is to have them with beef & Swiss. And my fave pizza: spinach & mushroom with the white garlic sauce. If you order a calzone, give your order some extra time, but that fresh made package of cheesy goodness stuffed with your fave toppings (errr... fillings) is worth the time! Give the pesto bread a try too! Coke products are served; refills when you eat in. Ummm, yeah... Obviously they're not gonna follow you with refills ;) Nothing fancy or foofoo, just wonderfully tasty traditional pizza parlor offerings worthy of...
Read moreThe food was mediocre not worth the money charged. The ambiance was off and not welcoming. they have two video games that arcade style in the corner. I tried to play one for $.50 for it not to work, but the owner still has them there available so they can make money off of them because they needed it so badly. And usually I wouldn’t come off as a dick, but we already paid for all of our order before we left to run to Whole Foods across the street because it took 25 minutes to make our pizza. To come back 30 minutes later and it not be ready and they tried to recharge us. Even though the owner was there in the building the whole time even when we walked in and I told them I would be right back that I was going across the street to grab something. Their food was bland their pizza had a dab of sauce on it. And for being a combination, I swear they counted out toppings. Will never come back. My first experience was horrible. You step in shit once its your bad, twice it’s your...
