Stopped by after cleaning the church. When we walked through door every person in this business greeted and welcomed us with a smile! Vanessa our server was so kind polite and helpful, she was outstanding. She brought our menu. Our drinks came. We told her we also wanted to place a order to go for our mother. We placed our order let me tell you it was fresh, we were asked if we needed anything. She brought our food, it was cooked perfect! There were condiments on the table but all you need is hot sauce if you like. Very reasonable pricing on everything. Wonderful portions so much we had to bring leftovers home! While we finished eating Ms. Wanda Sue came out and she is a very bright and cheerful person. She was actually interested in what we thought, and if things were to our liking. She thanked us and made sure we were welcomed and made us feel blessed to come again. The other beautiful family there did the same. If you want home style good food like you momma cooked this is the place for you. We had chicken liver and fries delious! And I had oysters fried to perfection! Not over or under breading was very good and oyster was sweet and juicy, the okra best I have eaten unless you fix it at home not greasy not hard and it was perfectly fried. I also had garlic potato's I let my brother try them and he took them! My mother who's order we brought home to her she was so very pleased. She said this is enough food for two meals! She had fried catfish fries and garlic parmesean buttered corn delious. Everything I would recommend. There is somthing for everyone. Thank you Ms. Wanda Sue. I pray everyone will come by and support your business. I feel like I have made a life long friendship with this establishment thank you for your delious food, friendly service and kind heart....
Read moreFirst and last time we will go here. We got there and had to wait for them to clean a table (even though the far back booth & the larger table were clean), they didn't clean it immediately either, but went to several tables before. We used the time to look over the menu to pick what we wanted, no biggie at the time. We got sat & the drink station was right behind my head so it was loud and obnoxious the whole time on top of the loud music that felt more like a club than a restaurant. The floor was dirty. We ordered right away. From the time we arrived it took took 45 minutes for our nachos appetizer to come out & another 10 for our meals. I specifically asked for nothing spicy as I can't eat it for medical reasons, while ordering. The broccoli (must have been from the seafood boil) was spicy, & they replaced it with more that was even spicier after I said something. I wish they had just stated that when ordering so I would have picked something else. The single garlic egg had almost no flavor. The 5 wings were dry like they'd been reheated or under a heat lamp & the 6 shrimp weren't peeled; definitely not worth the $25. The pasta dish had 2 different noodles; but they said they had "enough to make 1 alfredo meal". The nachos were the best part of the whole meal, and that's sad since the cheese tasted like cheap waxy goo and wasn't worth the wait. One of the worst meals & experiences I've had...
Read moreI've eaten here a few times. The first 3 or 4 times, the food was good, I've had the grouper fish basket, gizzard basket, crab fingers, and grouper dinner all togo. The togo gives you a lot of fried okra as a side love that. The gizzards are soft, not hard & chewy. I tried the fried corn on the cob, but I wasn't really a fan. On my last visit, I dined in and brought a first-timer. That experience wasn't as good as my previous times. I had the grouper and shrimp dinner. My fish was so overcooked it was as though it had been fried and refried with way too much salt and pepper and I'm not one to hold back on seasoning. I normally love love the okra I've gotten it every time; not sure if this was the cooks fault or just the end of the bag but I ended up not eating it everyone was stringy or tough and I couldn't eat them. I'm going to assume this was a slow night; the bingo hall next door was closed mid week and the normal cook was off, which is why our food was not as good as it had been the other times. I will be back and I will recommend eating here because of my previous good experiences...
