Not the Po Folks experience I am used to. The most bland/tasteless peach and blackberry cobbler I've ever had. My country fried steak was very chewy and full of bone fragments/cartilage. I really wanted to have a good experience, but from start to finish was nothing short of an ordeal. Originally I went to their website online to place an order for delivery, after going through the entire order process for "delivery " it takes me to the end only to switch and say pick-up was the only option. Switched my order to pick-up and drove to the restaurant. Upon arriving I was initially rang up by the server for the wrong receipt. My order total was $80.13 with an additional salad added on to a separate ticket for $8.01. Firstly, my card was charged for $92.96. The waitress checks me out and afterwards abruptly blurts out, "Uh-oh"... The manager comes over to assist with the mistake made. Now the manager proceeds to attempt to void out the transaction that has already been processed. Then without saying anything he goes ahead and charges my card for a second time for my order, which the total was $80.13. He tells me the wrong charge should fall off of my account in 10 days and if it doesnt to come back to the restaurant with my receipt. I inform the manager that I am not local to this area and I am only in town for a couple days working. To which he replies, "well it should come off." And asked if I wanted the store number to call back in the case it doesn't resolve after ten days. Upon loading my drinks into the vehicle, the manager comes back outside and informed me they didn't ring up my salad so he needed my debit card again. The manager rings up the additional salad for $8.01 and charges my card for the third time. Sadly, now my debit card has been charged for $181.10 plus tip for my order totaling $88.14. I now have the inconvenience of being forced to wait 11 days to be able to access my funds, which is an extreme hindrance as that is my allotment for food while out of town working. I truly could not believe after the entire spectacle that the manager came outside to grab my debit card to ring up the salad after already making the mistake of wrongly charging my card. I am still in disbelief at how the entire situation transpired. After many years in the restaurant industry myself I wholeheartedly believe there could have been a better alternative than the service I received. I will not be returning back to...
Read moreI've literally had to stop and think about whether I wanted to post this review or not, but given the amount of people who see these reviews, I feel it's important for people to know who they give their money too.
3 weeks ago, my grandparents, two of their friends, myself, daughter, and husband attempted to eat at PoFolks in Callaway. Out of my grandparents and their friends, 3 of them need assistance to walk and definitely cannot stand for long periods of time. When we arrived, but my husband was still 5 minutes out coming for work. We walked in and attempted to be seated. The first young lady at the counter asked how many..she was told 8...she asked if everybody was there, and was told we were waiting on one to arrive still...she then rudely pointed to the sign on the podium and said that we could not be seated until all of our party is here...when we attempted to explain...she said the sign was at the front and we could read it...
At that point, Priscialla who said she was the manager came up and said the same thing....now we have 3 people who cannot stand to wait for a table...there is nowhere to sit...(they have 3 chairs by the door that are currently taken by people waiting for take out orders)...I attempted to explain to her again, that they cannot stand...I even offered to go ahead and order my husbands food...(if I am paying for it, why does it really matter)...and she (Priscialla) was just as nasty and smirky as could be. I asked her if this was how Peter would like to see his customers treated, and she said I could call him if I wanted, but it was his policy and they still would not seat us...so we left...
Just beware of people who treat people so poorly. We were there to give them OUR earned money. I get policies...but sometimes theres just common sense and GRACE...We were talking about (4) 75+ year old people that YOU CLEARLY SAW needed to sit down...The lack of empathy was just unreal and you have a staff of people that DO NOT NEED TO WORK WITH PEOPLE. The whole situation screamed "I dont...
Read moreI had this place at a 5 star rating from the several occasions that we have eaten here, however I've had to change the rating today due to a miserable employee. I feel that going out to eat or ordering to-go is a 50/50 experience, 50% percent is getting good food that you yourself didn't have to cook and 50% is getting good service and positive interaction with "wait staff" ,after all hospitality is the name of the game isn't it? Pofolks especially in my opinion as us southerners pride ourselves on our southern hospitality! I have gone to this establishment regularly recently to pick up food rather than dine in. I'm a food delivery driver in the same neighborhood where I live and frequent local businesses...pofolks. I've had to be forced to deal with Priscilla, NOT A NICE PERSON TO THE DELIVERY DRIVERS! I've let this go so many times and not said anything but she is just down right rude. However she is a much different person to actual paying customers "dining in" ...I've also been sitting on the bench and witnessed her with staff members as well....She speaks to some of those young adults there like trash! Moral of the story is I'm there to make a living just like she is doing there! I deserve the same amount of respect that she deserves and that the "paying customers" do. Matter of fact, my presence there represents a "paying customer"!! I may not be the one at the time bringing money into the establishment but our "mutal customer" certainly is! I hate going in this pofolks now and shutter everytime the driver app sends me there! If it bothers her so much to be inconvenienced by food delivery maybe she should just stay out of it all together and work a different part of the house durning meal times!!! Btw I visit dozens of restaurants per day and this is the only one that I am made to feel...
