You absolutely need to eat at Casa Herrera. Casa Herrera is a nice little Mexican place that you absolutely have to try. It has food that will satisfy. If you head there the wait time is faster than P.J. Whelihan’s. In my experience, the wait time is about five to ten minutes, and the food is delicious! When you enter, you immediately know this is a Mexican restaurant. The walls are decorated with hand-drawn Mexican pictures and painted with multi-colored paint, and pens and the seats are decorated with paint and jewelry. When you sit down, you sit on history! The chairs were pictures made from Mexican history. When you start to eat you will know what I’m talking about; the sweet crunch of your taco or the aroma of the kitchen will waft to your table. When you get your food, whatever you get off of your menu—whether it be a taco or the special House Burrito or the chimichanga—you can agree that with the first bite you will be in food heaven. A good thing to order to order is the pulled pork tacos with pickled onions, lettuce, and tomato. This location is the only location around this area, so it is rare. Everyone who works there is super nice and as I said earlier the wait time is always quick. When you sit down you are immediately greeted by a waiter saying that they will be our server today. Because of these reasons, I would strongly recommend going to Casa Herrera.

Casa Herrera in Coatesville, PA, is a delightful gem that offers an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine! From the moment you walk in, the vibrant decor and warm ambiance set the stage for a wonderful dining experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making you feel welcomed right away. The menu features a fantastic variety of traditional Mexican dishes, from tacos and enchiladas to flavorful fajitas and mole. I highly recommend trying the carne asada, which is perfectly marinated and grilled to perfection, bursting with flavor. The homemade guacamole is also a must—fresh and creamy, it’s the perfect appetizer to start your meal. Portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for families and groups. The restaurant also offers a selection of refreshing margaritas that pair beautifully with the food. What I appreciate most about Casa Herrera is the authenticity of the flavors and the passion behind each dish. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this restaurant is a fantastic choice for a delicious meal. Casa Herrera has quickly become one of my go-to places for Mexican food, and I can’t wait to return!

I’m not sure why more people don’t talk about this place when they mention good Mexican food in the Downingtown area. Having lived here for 20+ years, I’d never been here or heard it come up when looking for recommendations. Maybe I just missed it but this was a great meal all around, from the service, to the food quality to the value. I had 3 tacos, 2 asada and 1 chorizo. The meat was full of flavor and the chorizo had just enough spice to give it some kick. I tasted the Mole con Pollo and it was interesting, with hints of chocolate. Not something I would order as my main but it was good if you’re more adventurous. I was told the chicken Chimichanga was excellent and since it disappeared rather quickly I would say it was. Chips and salsa were fresh and crispy. The salsa was nice and spicy. Finished with the churros, which were warm from the oven. Could have used more chocolate drizzle but they were good. The service was excellent and the portions were good sized. Overall great restaurant, and one of the best authentic Mexican in the area. Definitely would go back next time I have the craving for Mexican.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. This restaurant was once my go-to spot for deliciously authentic Mexican food and great service. Sad to say this is no longer the case. Service declined over time until officially hitting rock bottom for me on cinco de Mayo. I gave the restaurant one more chance (after a few disappointing experiences with the staff in the past)and went out with my family to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We arrived around 7:30 pm, and sat in the lobby waiting to be seated as it was crowded. First sign of trouble was the wet floor near the entrance ( with no wet floor sign) on which a couple people had already had a few nasty slips. We were then seated, after a couple minutes our waitress came out to get our drinks and told us that the menu had been condensed so we only had about 10 menu options, she also informed us that we would not be served chips and salsa since they ran out and offered no substitution. When she returned we placed our order and proceeded to wait for it to be ready, at which time we noticed that food was being served on cheap styrofoam plates! After about 30 minutes we notice that a table that had arrived much later than us was being served OUR FOOD by a food runner who looked lost and confused. Our Waitress was nowhere to be found since bringing us our drinks and when we finally found her she said she didn't know what happened and said she would place our order again (it's been more than 45 min since we've arrived) after waiting nearly an hour for our food the waitress finally brings it out and my order was still wrong! At this point I left because my appetite was completely ruined. The staff is unprofessional and rude they know nothing about good customer service. Management seems to be at the core of the issue as they do not hold their staff to a high standard, and when asked about what would be done about Such a horrible experience we were only told that they "had no idea" what had happened and offered no other explanation Such a shame that a once great spot cares so little about their customers. Just a matter of time before they lose all their loyal customers. Will...

UPDATE-One week later.....The manager reached out to me and assured me that our negative experience has been addressed with the servers, and she did everything that she could to rectify the issues. I still believe that Casa Herrera is a wonderful place to patronize, and I look forward to returning in the near future. Thank you for making things right!!

It hurts my heart to post this because I've always had exceptional experiences at Casa. However, my kids asked where I might like to go for Mother's Day weekend, and I told them about this amazing Mexican place near me. We made a reservation for a Saturday night. The food was exceptional as always, but we were a little disappointed to find that you couldn't accommodate her vegetarian request by replacing the meat with black beans in her enchiladas... It seemed easy enough, but okay. How do you not accommodate the one vegetarian at a table of seven?? šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

The problems came with the service that we received. As a table of 7, we expected our server to come check in on us while we waited for our meal, but that never happened. I asked for more chips as our bowl was empty, but we never got them. We were all sitting with alcoholic beverages but were never once offered water as well. At one point, all of our drinks were empty, and we had to ask the server to get our waitress to request a refill, and she still didn't come. And even after the request, we all sat with no water, empty beverages, and no chips... even after we asked.

The food was a 5 star experience, at least....as always. But unfortunately, the service left so much to be desired. I was almost embarrassed that I recommended this place for my kids, who have never experienced the Casa that I've experienced in the past. I'm not sure what was happening with y'all this evening, but I hope you figure it out. Because this is one of my favorite places to patronage, I would never return if I based my decision solely on this evenings experience. I really wish it could have...

If you love deciduous tasting delights of Mexican Food—then Casa Herrera is the place for you. Casa Herrera is a place my family and I have been many times, and when we go we get greeted, welcomed, and served amazing food.

To start, Their food is amazing and served warm or cold depending on what it is, there are no hot dishes served cold. They bring the food warm, neat, and well cooked. They have many choices such as: Tacos, burritos, chimichangas, seafood, fajitas, many drinks, etc. They have amazing sides. They plate the food so well and make it neat and organized. I have never had anything undercooked or overcooked. Overall, their food is amazing.

The food is not the only thing that makes this place worth this cleanliness. The place is so clean, everything is dusted off, tales are wiped, organized and well-kept. When they sat me at my table the table was set with many different utensils for all of my meals and an organized table filled with condiments and menus. The floors are so clean and polished from the moment you walk in even into the bathrooms. The bathrooms are also very well-kept and clean. Overall, their cleanliness is amazing.

Finally, their service. Their workers are so kind. They work kard to get your food out fast so you do not have to wait. They make very good drinks and have many options for anyone. From what I’ve heard—they have very good margaritas.

Overall, Casa Herrara is perfect...
