My husband and I went to chipotle in thorndale tonight with our two adult clients with autism. When we arrived there were no clean tables in the restaurant so we had to clear and move extra chairs to the side to accommodate us. We did it without complaint. The food unfortunately was not great. The brown rice was hard, so much I thought it was the steak being overcooked and tough but it was just the rice. Again we ate without complaint. At the end we noticed the trash cans were completely overfilled and spilling over, the client I work with noticed and let them know. At the end of our meal the staff just began addressing the trash however walked away with the trash bag not fully in the trash can to complain to the other staff about the soda spilled on the floor. Specifically to say “anyone with two eyes” could see this was not a trash can for sodas. The other trash was still piled up. So we decided to put all our trash on one tray neatly on the table since both trash cans were either out of commission or not fully set up. Again without complaint. While we were getting in our car I heard a woman staff yell across the parking lot to us “you could have told me you needed me to throw out your trash for you.” I walked back over to explain that we did let them know the trash was full and that we didn’t want to keep piling the trash higher so we simply put everything on the tray. Again she reiterated that we told them about the trash yes but not asked her to throw out our trash. It was totally uncalled for to confront us in the parking lot. Even the man I work with again who has autism and struggles to recognize social interactions said to me “well that was rude.” I usually skip this location and drive to the West Chester because it’s the best in the area but I figured I would give thorndale another chance. Clearly I was mistaken. The restaurant is always trashed, the workers are angry and annoyed and the food is never cooked right. The only regret I have is that I didn’t take pictures of the trash after she confronted me so I...
Read moreStopped by here a couple weeks ago to place an order in the regular walk-in line. The service was rather slow compared to former experiences at Chipotle, so I left without putting an order in. I decided I would try again last night, but opted to do a phone-in order hoping that I would have a more streamlined experience. For clarity, for at least this location, phone in orders are taken by an automated service. I placed an order and was given 8:20pm as a pick-up time.
I arrived around 8:15pm and waited until a little after 8:20pm to speak with an employee since my order had not been placed in the pick-up spot as of yet (gave my name and indicated I was waiting on a pick-up order). The employee said they were running about 10 minutes behind. I ended up leaving without any food or service after waiting for an hour, giving my name 4 to 5 times to employees, only to finally be told they hadn't received any pick-up orders with my name (even though, again, I had given them my name numerous times over the hour I was there)! I did confirm, and yes, my card was charged for the order. Looks like I'll have to call corporate to get a refund. None of the staff were rude to me, but this location seems to need some serious help with SOP, timeliness of service, etc. Others waited quite a while for pick-up orders - there was a group of at least 8 of us waiting on food while the walk-in line was completely empty. I'll wait until the Parkesburg location is open before I'll return to this...
Read moreNever seen a place go to s* this fast, just look at these reviews. First, a warning, If you contact customer service they will offer you the bare minimum to shut you up and put a time limit on the offer they give you so you have to patronize them again quickly. It has been open several months maybe, and from its clean exciting start until now, it's been a nosedive and I'm DONE ORDERING. I have had burritos without meat, arrived to find they've run out of soda, chips, salsa and more that they will charge you for then let you know about the shortage once you've wasted money and time. Chipotlane is also a toss up, 50/50 chance you'll get the right order out of the window.
I also assume a poor attitude and a rude disposition are prerequisites to work here. When they were trying to exchange my drink that wasn't available, the woman working this evening seemed so bored by my issue that she wasn't even trying to mask her distaste or sarcasm. Managers obviously don't care.
I went from wanting a Chipotle near me, to thinking this is the stingiest, rudest, dirtiest, most poorly run, poorly stocked, mostly empty slop shop that dishes out cold burritos and cheeseless quesadillas. You'd be better off at any local small business for Mexican food. I recommend Casa Herrera and El Tarasco as alternatives in the area for better tacos, burritos, service, and stock. The local prices are comparable to the $13 quesadilla you were going to buy. This is just another trash...
