I’m going to give it 5 stars despite the hostess who wasn’t customer friendly. She sat us at a particular table and when we requested the adjacent one, made a face, pointed to the other table, left the menus & utensils at the first table and walked away. She even saw me get up & retrieve everything from the other table & didn’t say a thing. Remember, your patrons pay your salary - it makes sense to make them feel welcome & taken care of. I give her 2 stars. On the other hand, our server was amazing!!!!!! She was kind, informative, awesome, friendly, took the time to tell us her favorite dishes and really just was outstanding all around. We hadn’t planned to eat our holiday meal at a diner but last minute property issues caused us to look for a place to eat our holiday meal. Wow, what a treat!!! We are not easily impressed but the turkey was so moist, gravy & stuffing outstanding, roast beef delicious (thinner slices, maybe?), ham with pomegranate gastrique (at a diner ?!!!!) with fresh pomegranate seeds. Homemade mashed potatoes, delicious homemade soup, the freshest, crunchiest salad I’ve ever had, even in fancy fine dining restaurants, carrot cake was decent, warm rolls were great, real butter, crab melt was awesome, congratulations Chef & owner & servers. Your live of food & customers shines through. We will be back many times over. My only regret was never going here before. Please sell your soup by the quart. Amazing!! We are foodies and know good food. Thank you for saving our holiday and caring about freshness, flavor...
Read moreWent there this past Sunday evening. Waitress never introduced herself and always had one foot out of our booth the entire time, as if we were bugging her with our presence even though there were less than 5 tables in total. Two orders were incomplete and the waitress was rude and made it seem like we ordered something different. The veggie platter didn’t have the grape leaves, which I never received. An Italian platter didn’t get the garlic bread at first. She assumed that my MIL wanted the senior platter instead of the regular one, which doesn’t include garlic bread. Eventually she did bring out bread, which was just the bread they used for French toast and wasn’t toasted or had anything added to it for garlic bread. After this, the waitress avoided our table the rest of the time. The hostess tried to give us a check. We ordered dessert, so our waitress had to come out to us again. They were out of many options we tried to order. They got my MIL’s dessert order wrong as well. We didn’t even try to explain this again to the waitress. The hostess gave us our check and rung us out. The waitress just grabbed the signed receipt as soon as I was done and didn’t speak to us. Everything was an issue, the food wasn’t good, and the staff were extremely rude. We would not go back again.
I was there previously just for breakfast a few times and that was good and there busiest times. Different staff and experience entirely. Breakfast is passable, nothing...

Happy Days is a fantastic place to go, especially for anyone who enjoys breakfast food. Not only is the food great, but so is the service and the aesthetic of the building.
As for the food, Happy Days has lots of great breakfast options to pick from. There are pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, omelets, and many more options. Although breakfast food is the main attraction, don’t fear if that's not what you want because Happy Days also offers a few lunch and dinner options such as wraps and burgers. However, the best thing about the food is the portions. Don’t ever fear not getting enough to eat because your plate will be loaded up with food—and at a reasonable price.
Along with the amazing food, the same goes for the service. The waiters are always extremely friendly. Additionally, your food will come very quickly when compared to other restaurants’ waiting times. Therefore, it is a great place to go when you want to go out to eat but can’t wait an extremely long time to get your food.
Lastly, the restaurant has a nice 1950s aesthetic; there are things such as neon lights and retro music. It is a nice addition for anyone who enjoys that era, but not distracting for anyone who doesn’t care for it.
So for anyone in the Downingtown area who hasn’t gone to Happy Days, you have to...
