I use to always go to this diner as the food was good and servers were pleasant. However, the last few times I have been there with friends was not a good experience. The service was slow showed little effort with no pleasantries. We started going to Happy Days. Today I stopped in for a late breakfast as you are close to where I live. While the food was good, the service and atmosphere were sorely lacking. The lady who was seating people brought me coffee right away. The waitress came over (a woman with dark hair, maybe 30's) I told her I knew what I wanted and gave her my order. She started walking away before I had finished my order and finally asked about my toast when she was near the kitchen door with her back to me. When she brought my meal the toast had not been cut. I was trying to ask for a little syrup and some more napkins but she dropped my plate and walked away while I was still talking...I said I would wait for her to come back and she said going ahead, I'm listening...again while walking away with her back to me. I got what I asked for, but she never came back to the table to see if I needed anything...only to drop my bill off as she was walking by before I was even half finished with my meal. It was not busy and she was at the counter on her phone the majority of the time. Another waitress came by and said out loud that the 'M-Fer' was blowing her phone up. I am no angel but certainly do not need to hear that kind of language when I am having a meal...and there were kids close by. I would like to thank the hostess for taking care of me and bringing me coffee...I tipped her...not the waitress. I spent a good time as a waitress and bartender and NEVER do this, but that waitress was rude and completely inattentive! It is a shame, because the owner is always very nice and accommodating, and I can see how the business is slowing down. I hope you can get things back on track again...but I will not be coming...
Read moreI do-not recommend this restaurant. I literally observed the waitress who served our food, take payments at the register and after that she was sitting at the counter wrapping-up clean silverware with her bare hands without washing them first or wearing gloves. This is disgusting, especially during Covid. Who wants to eat food after it's been touched by a person's bare hands and after touching customers dirty credit cards? The owner Abdul, i only know his name because I overheard her say it, was sitting there at the counter watching all of this chaos going on. The waitress was somewhat friendly, but had no idea what she was doing is prohibited by law for sanitary reasons and isn't permitted by the health department. I also observed the staff having personal conversations with one another in front of customers. This is a business, you're there to do a job and customers do-not need to hear your personal, unnecessary conversations about your weight loss and diet issues! This is the problem with many businesses today, the owners don't care, so why should the staff! I asked for well done hash-brown-potatoes and was given barely cooked ones instead. I told the waitress and she said they were just made fresh, well i would hope so, and if I wanted them more well done, I'd have to wait at least 20 minutes or more! Are you serious? It doesn't take 20 minutes or more to cook potatoes a lil bit more well done! I just accepted what she said and didn't eat them. I knew I'd never be back here anyway and didn't want to cause any unnecessary drama. The place is kind-of run-down inside and was not very clean. I definitely do-not recommend this place to anyone, unless you enjoy this type of torture. Have a...
Read moreHappy New Year! I have eaten in, gotten take out, and have had door dash from Double D for years with EXCELLENT food and service. My last order was a egg salad sandwich and the egg was not hard boiled at all, gross. Since it was door dash, I HAD TO GO PICK UP ANOTHER ONE! But, I gave them a pass. My order today was missing an item. The person on the phone admitted it was on them but that I would either have to go through door dash or pick it up!!! No apologies, just excuses. This was a big order too! So, I went to pick it up, received an apology but not even a hint of sincerity. No offer of a credit, an extra piece of toast, nothing! Just excuses that there was nothing she could do because it was door dash. EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT DOOR DASHES FAULT! SHE EVEN HAD THE NERVE TO SAY IT USUALLY IS! My food is dry and bland and looks like my Grandson made it even though I spent $60! Never...
