Poor service of evening store manager. On Wed.27Feb.2019. My best-friend, niece (her infant child)and my self walked into crowded CHURCH'S CHICKEN in Gary, IN on 14th and Broadway. After a still even longer wait we waited for our orders of 3 shrimp meals to be processed. Once we received the orders we left and returned home to discover we were missing an order of dried okra. I called and spoke with the Owner/Manager on shift fir the lunch hour explained that our order was missing a side order of fried okra. And that I would be back on that side of town later in the afternoon. This conversation took place around 1:45pm.
3-hours and 15 minutes later I returned to Churches Chicken to a still crowded, a waiting my turn to approach the cashier. While standing in line I noticed that a shift change had taken place.
Finally I am at the window when very politely asked by the cashier, "How may I help you?" Now in speaking with the cashier and explaining that I had spoken with a Manager from the lunch shift, I was returning to pick up the Fried Okra that I did not receive at lunch time. The Black Afro American Woman began in a very unprofessional manner rudely speaking that "she had not spoken to anyone about any side order of fried okra being missing." I replied that "I did and that I also have my receipt and she was not working at the time I came in for lunch."
As I turned to leave out of the fast food restaurant, the cashier called me back to with my side order bagged. As she passed my side order to me she stated that "Sometimes the previous shift do not inform of such things. I stood thinking maybe I would receive an apology from the manager assisting in getting out the orders. Nothing of the sort was expressed.
I am so disappointed with the manner in which she chose to handle things.
Praise God he kept me from stopping to her level of ignorance. Two wrongs make nothing right someone has to be the bigger person and through the Holy Spirit I was happy that it was I.

Read moreThe food is always fresh here because there's always a 15-minute wait. The light skin, med built Manager, has a very nasty interaction with guest. This place always have a clutter environment.
I ordered a large okra, two 3 PC dark, and it comes with 2 thighs and a leg. The manager took my order. The bathroom is always out of order, so I went next door to the gas station. My cousin drove over with our food, and it was 2 legs and a thigh.
I took the order back because I really hate legs, and I wanted my 2 thighs and one leg.
The manager came over there at the pickup window and yelled at me, "Do you see any thighs?" I told her I'll wait again for another batch. She told me people had been ordering all thighs so I couldn't get it. I asked for a refund and her name. She snatched the bag and gave me a refund.
I was going to call corporate and give her the actual name, receipt number, and my horrible experience. I didn't want to do her that way.
Mrs. Manager, you need to correct your interactions with guests. Also, if you know your restaurant goes through a lot of thighs, then order cases of thighs on your food truck order.
Speaking from 28 years of experience as an Area Coach from your competitor. Don't take your busy location for granted because I left Gary and drove to 103rd in Chicago the same day for the exact same order.
I have all 3 receipts still, so I know your name, and I could have reported...
Read moreSo when you order your food they let the orders pile up and then they say it will be 20 minutes and they cook all of the chicken at once and then form a assembly line and send them out one by one till the group of people all get served. If you are on a limited lunch forget this place. Doordash and other drivers were told stand to the side we will get to your orders in a while! Employees then go out to smoke and I observed one young lady hold the door open, light her cigar letting the smell into the lobby. ( I am a non smoker)Then stand at the front door and smoke, not observing the law of smoking 15 feet or more from the door. They stop serving chicken tenders around 7pm even when they close at 9pm. They do a pretty good job of keeping the beggars out of the lobby but they need to add security to keep them off the lot. Sometimes the beggars are so deep at the front door it looks like protest or a stike in progress. The remodel after the lady drove her car into the resturant is barely noticible. The parking lot is very dark. Repairing the lights in the lot would be fantastic! I just wish to see some improvements at this Churchs since Popeyes down the street closed 2 years ago after a fire. They need a substitute for biscuits like fries,or rice because everyone doesn't...
