After reading the reviews, did I catch you at a bad time? My sister lives in Miller Beach and recommended Clutch. Went there with family recently with expectations of a good experience.
It was apparent the person behind the counter was all on his own and a bit stressed (owner? I think I heard the name Chris, maybe) But the first impression was that we were a bother. Not a greeting, no smile, just the look of stress. We had never been there and didn't know what to get, and when we didn't respond, the menu was whisked out of our site and given to the next customer. A few moments later we were given another menu, placed our order and sat down.
And I observed the one guy going from the counter taking orders to cooking eggs and toasting bagels, but not stopping to wash hands. After toggling back and forth from counter to kitchen, he washed his hands. Then pushed down the trash at the end of the counter, and went straight to toasting bagels. No washing, no gloves.
Our bagels were amazing!! We liked the art, the environment, outdoor seating. You're doing a great job with the product, but not so much with details mentioned.
We support local. We want to give a second chance. I'm hoping it's better the next time. The other helper showed up before we left and according to reviews, his personality contributes a lot. Please be kind to the locals who want to see...
Read moreWhat a wonderful stop for lunch in Miller. My mom and I came here at around 1:30 and it wasn't very busy, a few outside tables were full and the inside was empty. Ray took care of us and the service was excellent, brought us food and drinks and napkins to our table the moment we even thought of it. I had the hot meat on a roasted garlic bagel and my mom had spread on an Asiago bagel. We each got an iced coffee. I tried to order the rosemary shallot potatoes, but they only had enough for a half portion, but Ray cooked them for us anyways and didn't charge for it :)) The bagels were delicious! What a great texture and flavor, not to mention the killer seasoning on the potatoes. My iced coffee was a bit strong, but Ray didn't hesitate to let me have more of their sweet vanilla milk to add to it. My mom is a fan of a darker coffee and loved hers. The inside is cute and airy, with high ceilings and local art displayed all over. I highly recommend this place for lunch or a nice drink. Can't wait to come back and try the salad, focaccia, pizza, and dessert!...
Read moreWow, absolutely awesome products! And, they deliver to your front door once a week. My wife and I have tried so far; the everything bagel, two color bagel (forgot the real name), cheddar jalapeño sliced loaf, English muffins and two flavors of cream cheese (their seasonal chive blossom and chili crisp) . . . everyone one of them was head and shoulders what you can get at any grocery store or chain. We live in Chicago, so have gotten delivery only so far, but we've seen they've opened a brick and mortar store and are making sandwiches with their baked goods . . . looks like there will have to be an early morning trip to Indiana in our future! Trust me, it's worth braving the traffic for based on the delivered goods we've enjoyed. In fact, after leaving this review, I've developed a hunger, time to toast an English muffin and spread peanut butter into the nooks...
