It is very difficult to get food in NWI. Most stores reflect the taste (if one calls it that) of uneducated white flighters in terms of location and selection. These are people who keep refrigerators running over with soda products but don't even know what fresh vegetables are. They stuff their gullets with hot dogs, steaks, and convenience foods designed to drain pockets and shorten lives, which, given how awful living here is, is probably optimal in the long run. K Market seemed to be making progress against the racist and down-market policies of the prior owner, Strack and Van Til. However, today, I arrived to find a gate that renders the place inaccessible to people using wheelchairs is back in place and locked. Two employees offered to unlock it for me. I explained Federal law requires 36" ingress and egress, and unlocking for one person is insufficient (How would a person using a wheelchair get inside to ask for it to be unlocked so they could get inside to ask for it to be unlocked?) the uneducated trash that pass as managerial employees began laughing at me and ridiculing me. I suspect they will find our next contact, through legal pleadings, far less amusing once someone...

On the negative side, there is rarely any new product or variety, if you’re searching for something in particular employees will watch you wander around the store aimlessly until you find and approach someone for help, and sometimes products are expired or very near expired which suggests there is very little rotation in the products that are sold and that management is going with the sale everything and if it’s close to expiration or expired mark it down😩
By Miller K Market being the only grocery store in the immediate area, I feel that this fact has been abused allowing a subpar store to flourish from a community that has no closer or better options, charging patrons for goods that can most certainly be found at cheaper prices almost anywhere else. There are seldom sales to alleviate their prices and when there are sales they are not very good. This store could stand to have better prices, better sales, and more products, including a better grade and variety of meats in their...
Read moreOverall I will admit it's a bit on the pricey side, but a small nuisance considering the overall prices of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING nowadays no matter where you shop. I at least get the comfort and feeling of the way it used to be shopping at the local grocer in a small town. The staff are always friendly, and just as helpful when needed. Another comfort, which can never be overrated, is the fact that it never seems overly crowded so the visits are pleasant, and the staff never feel overwhelmed. The only thing that does worry me about that is I really don't want to see them go under from lack of sales the way other such small/independent businesses have. It's a shame supporting local doesn't seem to be of much concern for most anymore. Everything has either gone the way of big chain store shopping or online delivered right to you laziness. I still enjoy good customer service and smiling faces during my transactions... I guess I'm more "old school than I...
