I wish I could be leaving a 5 star review. And I would’ve, if it was a few months ago. This place has changed since getting new owners and it is truly sad. Even more sad because they brought food back and the food is bomb. 18th street used to be a weekly spot for me, I’d chill and jam with Steve or vibe with Diamond. They made the place welcoming. They were the reason we kept coming back (even when there wasn’t food and we were sad). Steve used to keep our tab open while we went next door to tequila and tacos for food and we’d come back after eating for another beer. We’d even bring him back food! It felt like more than just a “bartender/customer” relationship. It felt like friendship. The other day they were playing elevator music and the bartender was telling guests that “this is our only beer that is a cocktail.” Huh????? Also, prices have went up for smaller pours. Good luck getting a 16 oz beer anymore. It’s all 13 oz or less pours for $7 or more. I realize that’s about standard anymore but a reason I liked 18th st was because you could get a good 16 oz pour for...
Read moreWhenever we travel we like to explore local breweries and distilleries so we were excited to see one so close to Miller Beach, where we were staying. As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed as if it were my local bar and grill. 18th Street has a fantastic mix of local hangout and hip lounge. I was happy to see a wide variety of beers on offer, stouts (my favorite), porters, IPAs, sours and more. While the beers were very good what really got me were the spirits!
I'm normally a bourbon guy and their bourbon did not disappoint but what blew me away was their single malt! Sooo smooth I told the manager I wanted to buy a couple of bottles to take home at which point he told me he was going to bring out something special. A limited run cask strength single malt, 120 proof, of the single smoothest whiskey I've ever had! Needless to say I bought four bottles of their whiskey, three for me and one for my uncle. Conclusion, I hope as many people as possible get the chance to enjoy the 18th Street Brewery. This place...
Read moreI never write reviews but wish I had given a good review the last time. I was excited to come back and have some decent craft beer while listening to an amazing record selection. But what a shame. The last time I came out to this location I felt like I was somewhere special. Great music and conversation. Fun stories that got the entire bar involved and talking to each other. I came in for one beer and stayed all evening. What a gem. I couldn't wait to come back. This time I brought friends and was honestly embarrassed. It was bright and uncomfortable. People skills are now seriously lacking. Music was worse than you could imagine and two dirty glasses in a row? Won't be back. I asked the last bartenders name and was loudly told he didn't work there anymore. Hopefully, he is still bartending as he...
